Dynamics 365 ERP pricing: Business Central vs Finance & Operations

Microsoft sells two ERPs under the Dynamics 365 name. Business Central is its ERP for small and midsize businesses. Finance and Supply Chain Management, the applications formerly sold together as Finance and Operations, are for larger organisations with more complex finance, manufacturing or distribution needs.

Both are licensed per user per month, paid yearly. The list prices for each are in the tables above, read from Microsoft’s own pricing pages with the date shown; Microsoft notes that the actual price varies by country and currency.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Dynamics 365 cost?
Microsoft prices each app separately, per user per month and paid yearly (US list prices, checked 2026-10-21): Business Central Essentials $80, Premium $110 and Team Members $8; Finance $210 (Premium $300); Supply Chain Management $210 (Premium $300); Sales Professional $65, Enterprise $105 and Premium $150; Customer Service Professional $50, Enterprise $105 and Premium $195. Use the calculator above to estimate implementation and total cost for your team.
How much does Dynamics 365 Business Central cost?
Business Central Essentials is $80 and Premium $110 per user per month, paid yearly; Team Members, a limited license for reading data, approving workflows and updating selected records, is $8 (Microsoft US list prices, checked 2026-10-21). Premium adds service management and manufacturing capabilities to everything in Essentials.
Why is Dynamics 365 licensing so complex?
Microsoft uses a modular approach where each business function is a separate product with its own pricing. While this allows picking only what you need, the combination of base apps, attach licenses, team member licenses, and add-ons makes total cost calculation difficult.
How does Dynamics 365 compare to Odoo?
Dynamics 365 integrates deeply with Microsoft 365 and Power BI, and in this calculator's estimates it usually costs more than Odoo. Odoo includes all modules at one per-user price ($31.10 per user per month for Standard in the US, billed yearly), while D365 charges separately for each app. If you are not deeply invested in the Microsoft ecosystem, Odoo offers better value.
Is Dynamics 365 good for manufacturing?
Yes, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management has solid manufacturing capabilities including production orders, BOM management, and quality control. However, manufacturing-specific ERPs like Epicor Kinetic or Odoo Enterprise offer comparable features at lower cost.
What are Dynamics 365 hidden costs?
Costs beyond the per-user licenses include Power Platform licensing for automations, Azure for on-premise deployments, third-party ISV solutions for gaps, consultant time, and price changes at contract renewal. Microsoft also notes that the prices on its pages are for information only and may not reflect the actual list price in your country; the actual price is set at checkout.
