Paper consent forms and generic e-sign overlays leave a legal gap that hurts most during an audit. When a compliance officer has to prove that a specific patient agreed to a specific procedure, under the exact wording in force on that date, a scanned PDF with a scribbled signature is not enough. Odoo core gives you mail for messaging and attachments and (in Enterprise) a general-purpose signature tool, but nothing ties a consent document to a clinical encounter, versions the wording the patient actually saw, merges live patient and procedure data into the form, or blocks a procedure from being signed off until consent exists. Off-the-shelf marketplace modules tend to stop at a static template plus a signature image — no version pinning, no encounter link, no mandatory-consent gating. This is exactly the road-runs-out point we build past.
Dedicated `consent.template` model with category typing (surgical, anesthesia, procedure, data-privacy) and per-template version numbers
QWeb-rendered dynamic merge fields pulling patient demographics, scheduled procedure, and responsible practitioner from source records at render time
OWL canvas signature widget capturing patient, witness, and practitioner signatures independently
`consent.record` linked to a specific encounter, admission, or scheduled procedure — not a floating document
Mandatory-consent gating via automated action / `@api.constrains` that blocks procedure sign-off until required consent is signed
Immutable signed PDF frozen and archived onto the patient record once all parties have signed
What ECOSIRE builds for you is a dedicated consent domain layered on clinical-core-his-emr. A consent.template model (backed by ir.model.access.csv and record rules for role scoping) holds reusable, categorized templates — surgical, anesthesia, procedure, data-privacy — each carrying a version number so the wording is immutable once published. Dynamic fields are resolved through a QWeb-rendered merge layer: placeholders for patient demographics, the scheduled procedure, and the responsible practitioner are populated from their source records at render time via compute methods and @api.depends, so the document a patient reads always reflects current data without hand-editing. A consent.record links each signed form to a specific encounter, admission, or scheduled procedure, and captures patient, witness, and practitioner signatures through an OWL canvas widget. Once all required parties sign, the system renders and freezes an immutable PDF onto the patient record and writes an audit trail — signer identity, timestamp, source IP/device, and the exact template version agreed to.
The gating logic is where this earns its place in the workflow. An automated action (or a server-side @api.constrains guard, depending on your sign-off model) blocks a procedure from being marked complete while a mandatory consent for it is unsigned, so the control is enforced in the ERP rather than trusted to staff memory. Consent renders in the patient's preferred language using Odoo's translation layer, and remote signing runs through the portal app so a patient can review and sign from home before admission — every remote signature flowing into the same audit trail. Because everything is native Odoo, the consent status and signed PDF are also reachable over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API for downstream reporting or integration with a scheduling or theatre-management system.
We tailor the build to your Odoo edition and version — supported on Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, Community or Enterprise — reusing Enterprise components where you already license them and providing Community-friendly equivalents where you do not, so you are never forced into a subscription you did not plan for.
Delivery is build-to-order: it starts with a short scoping call to confirm your consent categories, signature parties, gating rules, and language needs, after which we produce a fixed quotation and a UAT build on staging before anything reaches production. Typical delivery is 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company or multi-hospital deployments, deeper localization of legal wording, and migration of historical consent archives increase the quoted scope.
Needs legally-defensible, versioned consent capture that proves which wording a patient agreed to and when. Cares most about the immutable PDF, template version pinning, and the full audit trail during regulatory or medico-legal review.
Wants to retire paper consent and reduce missing-signature incidents. Values mandatory-consent gating that stops a procedure proceeding without a signed form, and portal remote signing to cut check-in delays.
Manages surgical and anesthesia scheduling and needs each consent tied to the correct encounter and procedure, with witness and practitioner signatures captured before the patient enters theatre.
Owns the Odoo estate and needs a maintainable, native module on the correct edition and version, with clean security rules and API access rather than a black-box bolt-on.

| Kriterium | ECOSIRE | Benutzerdefinierter Build | Konkurrent | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Procedure / encounter linkage | Consent record bound to a specific encounter, admission or scheduled procedure | Possible, but you design and maintain the link model yourself | Usually a standalone document, not tied to a clinical encounter | |
| Template version pinning | Each signature pins the exact wording version, immutable after signing | Achievable only if you build versioning deliberately | Rarely versioned; edits can affect what history appears to say | |
| Mandatory-consent gating | Blocks procedure sign-off until required consent is signed | Buildable, but adds significant scope and testing | Typically not enforced in workflow | |
| Signature parties | Patient, witness and practitioner captured independently via OWL canvas | Depends entirely on your build effort | Often a single signature image only | |
| Audit trail | Signer, timestamp, device/IP and template version recorded on each event | Only if you implement audit logging yourself | Limited; often just a signed-on date | |
| Remote portal signing | Patient signs from home via the portal, same audit trail | Extra development on top of your base build | Sometimes available, sometimes desk-only | |
| Odoo version & edition fit | Packaged for 17/18/19, Community or Enterprise, edition-appropriate | Yours to keep compatible across upgrades | Fixed to the vendor's supported versions | |
| Ownership & support | Full source, git handover, training and a support window | You own it but carry all maintenance | Vendor-controlled, licence-locked code |
This is a build-to-order module, not an instant download. After a scoping call to confirm your consent categories, signature parties, gating rules and languages, typical delivery is 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope. Complex multi-hospital or heavy-localization builds sit at the longer end, and we agree the timeline in writing with the fixed quotation.
Pricing starts from $249 as an indicative single-company base scope. We do not quote a firm price until a short scoping call, after which you receive a fixed quotation. Drivers that increase scope include multi-company or multi-hospital deployment, deeper localization of legal wording, additional signature parties, and migration of historical consent archives.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments. We hand over the full git repository and technical docs so your team can maintain it, and we offer ongoing support and version-upgrade engagements (for example moving your build from Odoo 17 to 18 or 19) as a separate agreement.
Both. We package for Odoo 17.0, 18.0 and 19.0 on either edition. Where you already license Enterprise components we reuse them; where you run Community we provide equivalent functionality (for example the OWL canvas signature capture) so you are not forced into a subscription you did not plan for.
Each signed consent pins the exact template version the patient saw, and the signed document is frozen as an immutable PDF on the patient record. Editing or publishing a new template version never alters historical records. The audit trail stores signer identity, timestamp, source device/IP and version, so you can reconstruct precisely what was agreed.
Yes. Remote signing runs through Odoo's `portal` app, so a patient can review and sign consent from home before admission. Those signatures flow into the same `consent.record` and audit trail as in-clinic signatures, and mandatory-consent gating still applies before the procedure can be signed off.
It builds directly on `clinical-core-his-emr`, so patient, encounter, procedure and practitioner data merge into the consent form natively. Consent status and signed documents are also exposed over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API for downstream reporting or integration with theatre or scheduling systems.
