About this Product
Beverage distribution punishes generic ERP. A wholesaler moving beer, water, soft drinks, juices, or spirits juggles route-based delivery schedules, returnable containers and pallet/keg deposits, promotional price lists that change by brand and season, empties reconciliation on every truck, mixed-case and layer/pallet unit conversions, and — for alcohol and regulated drinks — lot/expiry traceability and excise or deposit-return-scheme reporting. Stock Odoo (sale, stock, account) handles a straightforward buy-store-sell flow well, but it has no native concept of a returnable-deposit liability that follows a container out and back, no driver route/load sheet, and no beverage-specific pricing matrix. Teams end up bolting this onto spreadsheets and manual journal entries, which breaks the moment volume grows.
This is where we build. ECOSIRE develops a dedicated Odoo application whose __manifest__.py depends on sale_management, stock, and account, adding new models such as beverage.route, beverage.deposit.type, and beverage.container.movement (all models.Model) plus targeted extensions of product.template, sale.order, and stock.picking. Deposit balances are @api.depends computed fields that post to a dedicated liability account through account.move so empties owed are always visible on a partner's ledger, never a sticky note. Returnable containers are tracked as their own tracked products with lots where you need serial-level kegs, and unit-of-measure categories model the case ↔ bottle ↔ pallet conversions your buyers actually order in. Delivery routing gets its own OWL/XML views and a QWeb load sheet and driver manifest; promotional pricing rides Odoo pricelist rules extended with brand, volume-tier, and date-window conditions. Automated actions flag deposits unreturned past your threshold, and everything is reachable over the standard XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so your handhelds, telematics, or e-invoicing stack can integrate.
Access is locked down properly from day one: ir.model.access.csv grants per group (route planner, driver, warehouse, accounts) and record rules scope drivers to their own routes and multi-company users to their own company's data. We build against your edition — Community or Enterprise — and tell you honestly when a capability (e.g. advanced barcode flows, full accounting localizations, or studio-style tweaks) leans on Enterprise so there are no surprises. Every deliverable targets your running Odoo major version, whether that is 17.0, 18.0, or 19.0.
Delivery is build-to-order, not a shelf download. It starts with a scoping call where we map your routes, container/deposit types, pricing rules, and reporting needs; we then send a fixed quote and, on confirmation, build on a staging instance, run UAT with your team, and cut over with a rollback plan. Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope depending on complexity and data migration. Pricing starts from $999 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company or multi-warehouse rollouts, deposit-return-scheme/excise localization depth, third-party integrations (handheld/telematics/e-invoicing), and historical data migration volume increase the quoted scope. You receive the full source, so you are never locked to us.

Who this is for
Beverage Wholesaler / Distributor Owner
Runs a multi-route beverage distribution business on Odoo and needs deposits, empties, and route settlement handled inside the ERP instead of spreadsheets, with clean financials they can trust.
Operations / Route Manager
Plans daily loads and driver routes, tracks empties owed by each account, and wants printable load sheets and manifests plus end-of-shift settlement that actually ties out.
Finance / Accounts Lead
Needs returnable-container deposits to post as a real liability that reconciles on return, accurate per-partner ledgers, and any excise or deposit-return-scheme reporting their jurisdiction requires.
Odoo Administrator / Internal IT
Maintains the company's Odoo instance, cares about clean models, proper access rules, upgrade-safe code, and a git handover so the team can extend the solution without vendor lock-in.
How Beverage Distributor for Odoo Compares
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Returnable deposit & empties tracking | Dedicated deposit models posting a real liability, reconciled on return | Possible but you design and maintain it from scratch | Partial or rigid; rarely posts to a proper liability account | No concept of container deposits at all |
| Route planning & driver manifests | Purpose-built route model with QWeb load sheets and settlement | Buildable but significant in-house effort | Often generic delivery, not beverage route settlement | Basic delivery orders only, no route load sheet |
| Beverage pricing (brand/volume/promo) | Pricelist rules extended with brand, volume-tier, date windows | You extend pricelists yourself and maintain them | Standard pricelists; limited beverage-specific logic | Generic pricelists without beverage tiers |
| Fit to your exact process | Scoped and built to your routes, deposits, and reporting | Full control but full responsibility and risk | Fixed feature set; you adapt to it | Generic ERP; heavy manual workarounds |
| Odoo version & edition fit | Built for your 17.0/18.0/19.0 and Community or Enterprise | Depends entirely on your developers | May lag Odoo releases or assume one edition | Ships with core; no beverage layer |
| Ownership & lock-in | Full source + git handover; standard API integration | You own it, but you built it | Vendor-controlled; source often closed | Core code, but no beverage functionality |
| Support & upgrades | Post-go-live window plus quotable ongoing support and upgrades | Your team supports it indefinitely | Tied to vendor's roadmap and SLAs | Community/Enterprise support, no custom features |
| Time to value | Typically one working week from confirmed scope | Often months of internal build and testing | Fast to install, slow to bend to your process | Immediate but requires manual workarounds |
Frequently Asked Questions about Beverage Distributor
Is this a ready-made app I can download and install today?
No. This is a build-to-order productized service. ECOSIRE designs, builds, installs, and supports a beverage-distribution solution tailored to your routes, deposit types, pricing, and reporting. There is no instant download — we build it for your specific operation and Odoo version.
How long does delivery take?
Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope, depending on complexity, integrations, and data-migration volume. It begins with a scoping call, then a fixed quote; on confirmation we build on staging, run UAT with your team, and cut over with a rollback plan.
How does pricing and scoping work?
Pricing starts from $999 as an indicative, single-company base-scope figure — not a firm quote. After a short scoping call we send a fixed quote. Drivers that increase scope include multi-company/multi-warehouse rollouts, deposit-return-scheme or excise localization depth, third-party integrations, and historical data migration volume.
What do I get for support and updates after go-live?
Every engagement includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration questions. Because you receive the full source and git repository, your own team can maintain and extend it, and we can quote ongoing support or version upgrades (e.g. 17.0 → 18.0 → 19.0) separately.
Which Odoo versions and editions do you support?
We build for Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, on Community or Enterprise. During scoping we confirm which capabilities depend on Enterprise (such as certain barcode or localization features) so the quote and design match your edition honestly.
How are returnable-container deposits handled financially?
Deposits post to a dedicated liability account via `account.move`, with an `@api.depends` computed outstanding balance per partner. When empties are returned, the movement reconciles the liability. Automated ageing actions flag deposits unreturned past your threshold so nothing is silently written off.
Will this lock me into ECOSIRE?
No. You receive the complete installable source and a git repository with full history. The solution is built on standard Odoo models and the documented XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API, so any competent Odoo team can maintain or extend it.
