AI Copilot Insights & Anomaly Detection is a build-to-order extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, written in AL and installed as a per-tenant extension on your own environment — not an instant AppSource download. ECOSIRE scopes it to your chart of accounts, dimensions and posting groups, builds it, deploys it, and supports it.

The extension gives CFOs and controllers a finance-aware AI layer that sits directly on top of native Business Central data. A page extension adds an "Insights" FactBox and an AI Copilot action to the Role Center and key finance pages (Chart of Accounts, Customer/Vendor cards, Cash Flow Setup). Behind it, AL event subscribers capture G/L entries, customer ledger entries and posted documents as they happen, while a job queue entry runs scheduled anomaly scans and forecast refreshes.

The Copilot answers natural-language questions ("which cost centres overspent budget last quarter?") by translating intent into safe, parameterized queries against your tables and the Business Central OData/REST API — never free-form SQL. Where does the AI inference run, and is our data sent to a public model?

You choose. Inference can run against Azure OpenAI deployed in your own Azure subscription (so prompts and data stay within your tenant and region) or against Microsoft Copilot infrastructure. ECOSIRE wires it to honour your data-residency requirements; the natural-language layer only ever issues safe parameterized queries against your own Business Central data.

Does this replace native Business Central Copilot or the standard Cash Flow Forecast?

No — it extends them. Native Business Central includes a basic cash flow forecast and some Copilot features, but not finance-specific anomaly/fraud detection, late-payment risk scoring or automated variance narratives over your dimensions. This extension adds those capabilities through AL page extensions, event subscribers and a job queue, working alongside the standard features rather than overriding them.

Will it survive Business Central upgrades and not break our environment?

Yes. It is delivered as a proper per-tenant AL extension using supported extension points — event subscribers, table and page extensions, permission sets — so it does not modify base objects. That is what makes it upgrade-safe. ECOSIRE validates each Microsoft release wave against the extension and ships a recompiled version as part of the support agreement.
