Your team spends its whole workday inside the Odoo backend — yet the stock web client still looks and feels like a generic admin panel. The Premium Backend Theme is a build-to-order Odoo module that replaces that experience with a modern, fully-responsive, brand-aligned interface: three switchable visual styles, an installable Progressive Web App, an app drawer with global search, and first-class right-to-left and multi-language support across Odoo 17, 18 and 19.
Three switchable backend theme styles (e.g. classic, compact-dense, and modern-flat) selectable per user and persisted on res.users so each employee keeps their preferred look across sessions and devices
Progressive Web App support: a generated web app manifest, service worker and icon set so the Odoo backend is installable to phone, tablet or desktop home screens and launches full-screen without browser chrome
App drawer launcher: a grid-style menu overlay replacing the stock apps menu, with keyboard navigation, favourites and recently-used apps for faster switching between Odoo modules
Global search integrated into the top bar — search across menus, apps, records and settings from anywhere, powered by Odoo's command palette and extended to your custom menu items
Full responsiveness on mobile, tablet and desktop: fluid breakpoints, touch-friendly targets, collapsible sidebars and adaptive list/form layouts so the backend is genuinely usable on a phone, not just shrunk
Complete RTL (right-to-left) support with mirrored layouts, correct icon flipping and RTL-aware SCSS, tested against Arabic, Urdu, Hebrew and Farsi backend languages
This is not a one-click download from apps.odoo.com. ECOSIRE builds, brands and installs this module for you as a scoped engagement. We start from your logo, color palette and workflow, then extend Odoo's OWL-based web client and SCSS design tokens so the theme layers cleanly on top of core — no forked core files, no fragile monkey-patches that break on the next point release. The module ships as a proper Odoo app with its own __manifest__.py (dependencies on web and mail), assets registered into the web.assets_backend bundle, an OWL/QWeb-templated top bar and app drawer, per-user theme preferences stored on res.users, and clean ir.model.access.csv entries so preference records respect Odoo's security model.
Because it is engineered as an overlay theme rather than a core patch, it upgrades with your database and coexists with your other apps — Sales, Inventory, Accounting, custom modules and all. The result: a backend your staff actually enjoy using, that installs to their phone home screen like a native app, reads correctly in Arabic, Urdu, Hebrew or Farsi, and carries your brand on every screen. Delivered in 2–4 weeks with documentation, admin training and a post-launch support window.
Wants Odoo to look and feel like their company's own tool, not generic software — a consistent, professional backend that reinforces the brand for staff and screen-sharing with clients, without hiring an in-house frontend team.
Sales reps, warehouse staff and technicians who live in Odoo on a phone or tablet. They need an installable PWA, big touch targets and a genuinely responsive layout so they can work away from a desk without fighting a cramped desktop UI.
Companies in the Middle East, North Africa or South Asia whose staff use Arabic, Urdu, Hebrew or Farsi. They need the whole backend chrome to mirror correctly and read naturally in RTL, with translatable theme elements — something Odoo core only partially delivers.
Responsible for keeping Odoo upgradable and stable. They want a theme built as a clean overlay (no core edits), respecting the security model and asset pipeline, with documentation and an upgrade path across Odoo 17/18/19.
Buy the license on ecosire.com and download the Premium Backend Theme (PWA, RTL, Multi-Theme) module ZIP from your account dashboard.
Extract the ZIP into your Odoo custom addons folder on the server (or upload via Apps > Install from file on Odoo.sh / runbot).
Activate Developer Mode, open Apps, click Update Apps List, search for Premium Backend Theme (PWA, RTL, Multi-Theme), and press Install.
Open the new menu, paste your ECOSIRE license key, connect any external credentials (Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, etc.), and save.
Run the built-in connection test, sync your first 10 records, and schedule the recurring cron. Contact support if anything fails.
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Custom-branded to your identity | Fully branded from your logo, colours and fonts via SCSS design tokens | Possible, but you specify and pay for every detail from scratch | Limited to the theme author's preset colour options | |
| PWA (installable to home screen) | Included — manifest, service worker and icons, verified on iOS/Android/desktop | Only if you scope and build it deliberately | Rarely offered; if present, not tuned to your domain | |
| Multiple switchable theme styles | Three styles, selectable per user and saved on res.users | One style unless you fund several | Usually a single fixed style or a few colour swaps | |
| Full RTL + multi-language chrome | Mirrored RTL layouts tested on Arabic/Urdu/Hebrew/Farsi, translatable labels | Depends entirely on developer effort and testing | Often partial or untested RTL support | |
| Upgrade safety (no core edits) | Clean overlay: web.assets_backend, OWL patch API, QWeb inheritance | Risk of monkey-patches or forked core if not carefully engineered | Varies by author; some break on point releases | |
| Delivery model | Built, branded and installed for you in 2–4 weeks, source code you own | Weeks to months; you manage the developer and scope | Instant download, but generic and self-installed/supported | |
| Documentation, training & support window | Admin + end-user docs, recorded training, post-launch support included | Only if separately scoped and paid for | Typically forum/email support, no training | |
| Odoo 17 / 18 / 19 coverage | Built for your chosen version(s) with a compatibility path forward | Whatever the developer targets | Often lags new Odoo releases |
No. The Premium Backend Theme is build-to-order. ECOSIRE builds and brands the module specifically for your Odoo version and your visual identity, then installs it for you. It is not an instant apps.odoo.com download — you are commissioning a scoped, delivered engagement, and you receive the full source code you own at the end.
Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from kickoff, depending on how many of the three styles and how much brand customization you want, and which Odoo versions (17, 18, 19) you need supported. Kickoff begins once we've collected your brand assets (logo, colours, fonts) and confirmed the target Odoo version and hosting. We validate on staging before enabling it on production.
Every build includes a post-launch support window for bug fixes and reasonable adjustments. Because the theme is an overlay (no edited core files), it upgrades cleanly with your database; when you move to a newer supported Odoo version we run a compatibility check and patch anything needed. Ongoing maintenance and feature additions beyond the initial window are available as a support retainer — just ask for a quote.
It's engineered to avoid that. We register assets into the standard web.assets_backend bundle, extend OWL components through the public patch API and inherit QWeb templates rather than editing core. Theme preferences live on res.users with proper ir.model.access.csv entries. This overlay approach means it coexists with Sales, Inventory, Accounting and your custom modules, and survives point-release upgrades far better than a forked or monkey-patched theme.
It works with both Community and Enterprise on Odoo 17, 18 and 19. The theme targets the web client (the OWL backend), which is common to both editions. If you're on Enterprise, we ensure the theme layers cleanly over Enterprise-only UI elements; on Community it provides the modern chrome Community lacks out of the box. Tell us your edition and version at kickoff.
Yes on both counts. Branding is driven by centralized SCSS design tokens — logo, primary/accent colours, fonts, favicon and login screen — so we match your identity precisely and future rebrands are a token change. Full RTL support ships with mirrored layouts and RTL-aware styling, tested against Arabic, Urdu, Hebrew and Farsi, and theme labels are translatable via Odoo's .po files.
You receive the complete installable module (manifest, OWL/QWeb templates, SCSS, static assets, security CSV, translations), the applied brand configuration, PWA assets, installation on your environment, admin and end-user documentation, a recorded training session, and the support window. The source is delivered as a Git repo or ZIP that you own outright — no per-seat licensing lock-in.
