Key Features

Rule-based dynamic segments combining order count, AOV, products/categories, geography, order dates and lifecycle stage, resolved without manual list management
RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) quintile scoring computed from sales_order and customer_entity data and persisted to a custom segment-membership table
Cron-driven auto-refresh via a dedicated cron group (crontab.xml) that recomputes membership and scores on a schedule you control
Native integration with catalog and cart price rules so a segment becomes the condition for targeted discounts and promotions
Follow-up email targeting: trigger transactional or campaign email to a segment via observers on customer/order events
Export segment membership to CSV/XML and push to your ESP (Klaviyo, Mailchimp and similar) for downstream campaigns
Service contracts (SegmentRepositoryInterface) plus REST and GraphQL endpoints exposing membership and RFM scores to headless and BI consumers
Admin grid and rule-builder UI built on Magento UI components, with preview of estimated segment size before saving
Granular admin ACL resources so marketers and developers see only the segments and actions their role permits
Full multi-store / multi-website scoping so segments respect store-view and website boundaries
Compatible with both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce, built against your exact platform version
Clean, namespaced PSR-4 module under app/code that you own outright — no encryption, no license callbacks

About this Product

The Customer Segmentation & RFM Engine turns your raw order and customer history into living, queryable audiences. It is delivered as a dedicated module under app/code/Ecosire/CustomerSegmentation, wired through di.xml, registered admin ACL resources, and a cron group that recomputes membership on a schedule you control — no manual list-building.

This is a build-to-order extension, not an instant Adobe Commerce Marketplace download. After purchase, ECOSIRE engineers build the module against your Magento version (Open Source or Adobe Commerce), install it on your staging environment, validate against your real catalogue and order data, then deploy to production. We hand over clean, namespaced code you own — there is no obfuscation or license-server phone-home.

At the core is an RFM scoring engine: an observer/cron pipeline reads sales_order and customer_entity data, computes Recency, Frequency and Monetary quintile scores per customer, and persists them to a custom segment-membership table exposed through a service contract (SegmentRepositoryInterface). On top sits a rule builder in the admin (orders count, AOV, products/categories purchased, geography, order dates, lifecycle stage) that resolves to membership without you writing SQL.

Segments are not a dead end. They plug into native catalog/cart price rules for targeted promotions, drive follow-up email campaigns, and export to CSV/XML or your ESP for Klaviyo/Mailchimp-style sync. Membership and scores are readable over REST and GraphQL, so headless storefronts and external BI tools can consume the same source of truth. Everything respects Magento's multi-store, multi-website scoping and is covered by admin ACL so marketers and developers see only what their role permits. ECOSIRE supports the build with a warranty window and documented upgrade guidance.

What you get

  • Custom Magento 2 module (Ecosire_CustomerSegmentation) installed under app/code, built against your Open Source or Adobe Commerce version
  • Installation and deployment on your staging environment, validated against your real catalogue and order data before production go-live
  • Production deployment with setup:upgrade, di:compile and static-content deploy verified, plus rollback notes
  • Configured cron group and schedule for automatic segment and RFM refresh
  • REST + GraphQL endpoint documentation and example payloads for headless / BI consumers
  • Admin user guide covering the rule builder, RFM scoring, exports and price-rule integration, plus a post-launch warranty/support window

Who this is for

Retention Marketer

Wants precise, always-current audiences (lapsing high-value buyers, one-time purchasers, champions) to drive personalized email and promo campaigns without exporting spreadsheets every week.

Ecommerce Manager

Needs RFM and lifecycle visibility across the customer base to set discount strategy, justify spend and feed segment KPIs into Power BI or other reporting tools.

Magento Developer / Technical Lead

Wants clean, owned, service-contract-based code with REST/GraphQL access and proper ACL/cron, that survives Adobe Commerce upgrades and integrates with the existing storefront and ESP.

Frequently Asked Questions about Customer Segmentation & RFM Engine

How long does delivery take, since this is build-to-order?

Typical delivery is one working week from kickoff, depending on your Magento version, data volume and any custom segment rules or ESP integrations. After purchase we confirm scope, build the module against your platform, install and validate it on staging with your real data, then schedule the production deployment with you. This is a custom build installed by our engineers — not an instant Adobe Commerce Marketplace download, so we do not provide a download link.

What ongoing support and updates are included?

Every build includes a post-launch warranty window during which we fix any defects in the delivered module at no charge. After that, we offer optional support-and-maintenance retainers covering Magento and Adobe Commerce version-upgrade compatibility, new segment rules, and ESP changes. Because you own the namespaced source under app/code outright, you are never locked to us — but we are the team that knows the code best.

Does it work on both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce?

Yes. The module is built against your exact platform. On Adobe Commerce it coexists with the native Customer Segments feature rather than fighting it; on Magento Open Source, where native segmentation does not exist, this engine provides that capability. We confirm your edition and version at kickoff and compile and test against it.

Will RFM recalculation slow down my store?

No. Scoring runs in a dedicated cron group as a background job, reading order and customer data and writing to a custom membership table — it does not run on page load or checkout. You set the schedule (for example nightly), and large catalogues are processed in batches to keep memory and database load controlled.

Can segments and RFM scores be used by headless storefronts or external tools?

Yes. Membership and scores are exposed through Magento service contracts plus REST and GraphQL endpoints, so a PWA/headless storefront, a CDP, or a BI tool like Power BI can read the same source of truth. Exports to CSV/XML and direct ESP push are also available for email platforms.
