Mid-market merchants who run Adobe Commerce or Magento 2 on the storefront and ERPNext for finance, inventory, and fulfillment quickly hit a wall: the two systems do not speak to each other. Someone re-keys web orders into Sales Orders, stock counts drift between the warehouse and the catalog, prices set in ERPNext lag what shoppers actually see, and customer records fork into two half-correct copies. ERPNext ships no native Magento integration and its generic e-commerce hooks assume a Frappe-native storefront — so the moment you standardize on Magento's MSI stock sources, configurable products, multi-store views, and attribute sets, the out-of-the-box path runs out of road. Point-to-point iPaaS glue can move rows, but it has no understanding of ERPNext DocTypes, no idempotency around Frappe doc events, and no clean audit trail when a sync fails at 2 a.m.

We build a proper Frappe app — a versioned, installable module with its own DocTypes, not a pile of loose scripts. Magento is treated as a first-class integration: catalog and attribute data flow both ways (create/update Item, attribute sets, configurable/simple variants, category mapping), web orders land automatically as ERPNext Sales Order and, on your rules, Sales Invoice, and customer + address records reconcile against existing Customer docs instead of duplicating them. Inventory and price sync are MSI-aware: we map Magento stock sources to ERPNext warehouses so on-hand quantity and pricing stay consistent per source and per Price List, and multi-store-view setups get per-view catalog and pricing rules rather than a flattened single feed.

Technically, the connector uses Magento's REST/GraphQL APIs on one side and Frappe's REST API plus whitelisted server methods on the other. Outbound changes fire from ERPNext through hooks.py document events (on_update, on_submit, on_cancel) and background jobs enqueued on the Frappe worker, so a busy save never blocks the UI. Inbound Magento events arrive by webhook into whitelisted endpoints and are processed idempotently — every payload is de-duplicated and every sync attempt is written to a dedicated log DocType with the source id, direction, status, and error, so failures are visible and replayable rather than silent. Scheduler events (scheduler_events) run periodic reconciliation sweeps to catch anything a real-time hook missed. Field-level mapping, retry policy, and which store views are in scope are all configuration DocTypes, and access is governed by ERPNext role profiles and permissions so integration users can only touch what they should. It targets Frappe/ERPNext v15 and v16 and is delivered as a git-managed Frappe app you own.

Because this is build-to-order, nothing ships until we agree on scope.
