Most finance teams running ERPNext end up living in exported spreadsheets. Native reports like the Trial Balance, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable Summary and Cash Flow are accurate but static — they answer one question at a time, can't be pinned side by side, and don't refresh on a schedule or fan out by email. The moment a CFO wants a single board showing AR ageing, DSO trend, P&L variance and consolidated cash position across companies and currencies, ERPNext's built-in Report Builder and Query Report tooling runs out of road, and the usual fallback is a costly external BI stack (Power BI, Metabase) that duplicates your data and drifts out of sync with the ledger.

Finance Analytics & BI is a proper Frappe app that ECOSIRE builds to your chart of accounts and reporting calendar, installed directly into your ERPNext v15/v16 bench. It ships a Finance Analytics workspace with pre-built dashboards for AR/AP ageing, cash flow, and P&L, plus a self-service chart and report builder your controllers use without writing Python. Under the hood we model the analytics layer as first-class DocTypes (for example Finance Dashboard, Finance KPI and Finance Report Schedule) so every view is versioned, permissioned and portable across environments — not a pile of ad-hoc SQL trapped in one user's account.

The numbers are read straight from GL Entry, Sales Invoice, Purchase Invoice and Payment Entry, so figures always reconcile to the ledger. KPI tiles drill down: click a receivables balance and you land on the underlying GL Entry rows filtered to that customer and period. Aggregations run through whitelisted server-side methods and Query Reports rather than raw client queries, with server-side caching so large ledgers stay responsive. hooks.py scheduler events (daily, hourly) refresh materialised KPI snapshots and dispatch scheduled PDF/Excel reports to finance distribution lists via Frappe's email queue. Client scripts add the interactive drill-down and filter behaviour on the dashboard pages, and everything is exposed over the Frappe REST API and whitelisted methods so the same figures can feed a board pack or an external tool if you ever need one.

Access is governed by Frappe's permission model and role profiles — a Finance Analyst sees only the companies and cost centers you grant, and consolidated multi-company, multi-currency views respect each user's company permissions. Currency conversion uses your configured exchange rates so group roll-ups present in your reporting currency without touching transactional data.
