No DIY setup — a working app, built, installed and supported by ECOSIRE.
Start with a one-time build price. We scope it with you at kickoff.
ECOSIRE builds, configures and installs it on your Dynamics 365 Business Central.
You go live in about 2–4 weeks, with a post-launch support window.
Selling on Target Plus while running Dynamics 365 Business Central usually means two systems that never agree. Orders are keyed by hand or pasted from a CSV export, so Business Central sees them hours late and the reservation engine allocates stock the marketplace has already promised. Available inventory drifts between the Target Plus listing and the item ledger, which produces the two outcomes every seller wants to avoid: overselling and a cancellation defect rate, or a padded safety buffer that hides sellable stock. At month end, finance receives a settlement statement full of commissions, referral fees, returns and adjustments, reconciled against a bank deposit that matches no single sales order. Business Central out of the box has no notion of a marketplace channel at all — no order source, no marketplace fee handling, no listing state, and nowhere to store a Target Plus order ID against a sales header.
We build a dedicated AL extension for Business Central that owns this integration end to end. A Target Plus Setup page holds credentials, environment (sandbox or production), API base URL, retry and page-size settings, and the number series, locations, customer template and posting groups the connector uses. Order polling runs from a job queue entry on your chosen cadence; each marketplace order is staged in a connector table first, then converted to a Sales Order by a codeunit, so a downstream failure never leaves a half-written document. Marketplace order states map to Business Central document states through a configurable mapping table rather than hard-coded case statements, so a new Target Plus status is a data change, not a code change. Table extensions add Target Plus order ID, listing ID, marketplace status, fee amounts and settlement reference to the sales header, sales line, item and posted sales documents; page extensions surface them where your team already works — the Sales Order card, the Item card and the Posted Sales Invoice.
Inventory and price synchronisation runs the other way. Event subscribers on item ledger and reservation entry changes mark affected items dirty, and a batched, rate-limit-aware job queue codeunit pushes availability and price to Target Plus. You publish a calculated figure — inventory at nominated locations, minus open reservations, minus a configurable safety buffer — rather than a raw quantity on hand. Listing export maps Business Central items, variants, item attributes and item categories onto Target Plus categories and attribute schemas through a mapping table you maintain, with validation before submission so rejected listings are caught inside Business Central. Warehouse shipment and posted sales shipment triggers push carrier, tracking number and package detail back to the marketplace. Settlement files are parsed into commission, referral fee, refund and adjustment lines that post to the general journal against the accounts and dimensions you nominate, so a marketplace deposit reconciles to a bank ledger entry with a documented trail.
Everything is built to current Business Central practice: API pages exposing connector entities over REST API v2.0 and OData v4 for Power BI, Power Automate and Dataverse-connected flows; dedicated permission sets so warehouse, customer service and finance see only what they should; telemetry emitted to Application Insights via Session.LogMessage on every outbound call and failure; and a retry, backoff and dead-letter table so a Target Plus outage never silently drops an order. We deliver as a per-tenant extension for Business Central online, or as a deployed package for on-premises and hosted container environments, targeting your current release wave with an upgrade codeunit path so the extension survives Microsoft's twice-yearly updates.
This is build-to-order, not an AppSource download. After you request a quotation we run a scoping call to confirm your Target Plus seller account setup, Business Central version and localisation, locations, posting groups and the settlement treatment your accountant wants. We then write the extension, test it against your sandbox, and hand over the source, the app package and the documentation. Typical delivery is two to four weeks from confirmed scope — longer only where you need unusual settlement handling, multi-entity consolidation or a complex kit and bundle model, and we tell you that before you commit. You receive UAT on a staging environment, a signed-off test script, a rollback plan and a post-go-live support window before anything touches your production tenant.
Runs Target Plus alongside other sales channels and currently rekeys or CSV-imports orders into Business Central. Needs orders in the ERP within minutes, marketplace status visible on the Sales Order card, and an end to cancellations caused by stock the ERP had already reserved elsewhere.
Has to explain a Target Plus deposit that matches no single invoice. Needs commission, referral fees, refunds and adjustments posted as identifiable journal lines against the right accounts and dimensions, so the payout reconciles to the bank ledger and margin by channel becomes a real report rather than a spreadsheet estimate.
Ships marketplace orders from the same locations as everything else and re-enters tracking numbers into a marketplace portal by hand. Needs shipment confirmation and tracking pushed automatically on posting, and published availability that respects location-level reservations and buffers.
Owns the tenant and is accountable for the twice-yearly release waves. Needs a properly structured AL extension with its own object range, permission sets, telemetry and upgrade codeunits — plus the source code and repository, so the business is not locked to one supplier.
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Dynamics 365 Business Central Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to your Business Central setup | Built against your version, localisation, locations and posting groups after a scoping call | Fits exactly, if you have AL capacity and marketplace domain knowledge in-house | Generic mapping designed for the average seller; your edge cases become workarounds | No marketplace concept at all — no order source, listing state or fee handling |
| Time to a working integration | Typically 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope, against a fixed quotation | Months of internal build, test and rework once settlement reconciliation is understood | Fast install, then weeks of configuration and gap-filling for what it does not map | Indefinite — manual entry or CSV import continues |
| Settlement and fee reconciliation | Commission, referral fee, refund and adjustment lines posted to nominated accounts and dimensions with a settlement reference | Achievable, but the accounting design is the hardest part to get right in-house | Often stops at order import; settlement is left to a spreadsheet | Manual journal entry from the marketplace statement each period |
| Availability accuracy | Calculated sellable quantity — inventory less reservations less a configurable per-location buffer | As good as your team builds it; reservation entries are easy to overlook | Frequently pushes quantity on hand, forcing a padded safety buffer | No push at all; stock is maintained twice, by hand |
| Code ownership | Full AL source plus a private git repository with commit history handed over | Yours outright, along with the whole maintenance burden | Closed binary extension; you rent it and cannot change it | Nothing to own |
| Release wave upgrades | Upgrade codeunits and testing against each new major version under a support agreement | Your team retests and patches every wave | Vendor's timetable — you wait for their compatible release | Not applicable; there is nothing to break |
| Operational visibility | Error log page, dead-letter requeue and Application Insights telemetry on every call and failure | Usually deprioritised until the first silent failure teaches the lesson | Vendor log page of varying depth; telemetry rarely reaches your own workspace | None — failures surface as a customer complaint |
| Ongoing cost shape | One-off build with optional support and maintenance; no per-order or per-seat runtime fee | No licence, but a permanent internal development and testing cost | Recurring subscription, often scaling with order volume or user count | No software cost, paid instead in staff hours and cancellation defects |
This is built to order, so nothing ships the moment you pay. Typical delivery is two to four weeks from confirmed scope — that clock starts after the scoping call, once your Business Central version, locations, posting groups, Target Plus seller account setup and settlement treatment are agreed in writing. Scope involving unusual settlement handling, multi-entity consolidation or complex kit and bundle models can run longer, and we tell you that before you commit rather than after.
No. There is no instant download. ECOSIRE writes the AL extension for your environment, compiles it against your Business Central version and localisation, tests it on your sandbox and installs it. If you later want it published to AppSource as your own app, that is separate work we can quote.
You get a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments on the delivered scope. Beyond that we offer an ongoing support and maintenance agreement covering Microsoft's twice-yearly release waves — we test the extension against each new major version, handle deprecated API and event signature changes, and ship upgrade codeunits where a data change is needed. Because you receive the full AL source and the git repository, your own team or another partner can also maintain it.
Yes. For Business Central online we deliver a per-tenant extension installed against your tenant. For on-premises or hosted container deployments we deliver the app package and install it into your environment, with outbound connectivity requirements documented up front. The AL code is the same; the deployment method and network prerequisites differ, and we confirm which applies during scoping.
The connector never publishes raw quantity on hand. It publishes a calculated figure — inventory at the locations you nominate, minus open reservation entries, minus a safety buffer you configure per item or per location. Event subscribers on item ledger and reservation entry changes mark affected items for sync, so the push happens shortly after the stock movement rather than on a nightly batch. You control the cadence and the buffer; we document the trade-off between API call volume and freshness during scoping.
Failed calls are retried with backoff and, after the threshold you configure, land in a dead-letter table with the full request and error detail. An error log page lets operations inspect and requeue them without a developer. Nothing is silently dropped, and all outbound calls and failures are logged to Application Insights so you can alert on them.
Yes. You receive the complete AL source, the app package and a private git repository with full commit history at handover. There is no runtime licence key holding the extension hostage and no obligation to keep buying support from us to keep it running.
