What is Construction & Building-Materials Quote Cart?

A custom-built Shopify quote-to-order workflow for construction, building-materials and trade suppliers — request-for-quote cart, contractor tiered pricing, bulk/pallet ordering, delivery scheduling and trade accounts. Built, installed and supported by ECOSIRE. Built to order by ECOSIRE for Shopify (build-to-order) — indicative price from $999.00 USD; request a quote for a scoped proposal.

Key Features

Request-for-quote cart that replaces instant checkout — buyers submit a quote request instead of paying immediately, implemented via Shopify draft orders so accepted quotes become real orders with zero re-keying
Contractor and volume tiered pricing driven by customer metafields, applied automatically once a trade account is approved
Bulk and pallet quantity ordering with per-product quantity rules, increments and minimum-order thresholds suited to building materials
Delivery scheduling for heavy goods — requested delivery date and site-access notes captured on the quote and carried to the order
Trade-account registration and approval workflow, with pending/approved/suspended state stored in customer metafields and gated pricing visibility
Project / job reference fields on the cart and each line item, written to order attributes and line-item properties for downstream invoicing
PDF quote generation and one-click conversion to a Shopify order once the customer accepts
Multi-location inventory awareness so quotes reflect branch/yard stock across your Shopify locations
Webhook-driven sync (orders/create, customers/update) keeping quote status, account state and stock consistent
Quote status tracking (requested, quoted, accepted, expired) visible to staff in Shopify Admin and to the customer in their account
Configurable quote expiry and tax handling aligned to your store's existing tax and currency setup
Built with OAuth-scoped access using least-privilege Admin API scopes; uninstall cleanup via the app/uninstalled webhook

About this Product

Building-materials and trade selling doesn't fit a one-click checkout. Contractors order by the pallet, expect tiered pricing tied to their trade account, and need a written quote before a project budget is approved. The Construction & Building-Materials Quote Cart replaces Shopify's standard "Add to Cart → Checkout" with a request-for-quote (RFQ) workflow purpose-built for hardware, lumber, aggregates, cladding and MEP suppliers.

This is a build-to-order app, not an instant App Store install. ECOSIRE designs, builds, installs and configures it directly in your Shopify store, then supports it. We implement it as a Shopify app (or theme-app-extension where appropriate) using the Admin GraphQL API, draft orders, customer metafields for trade-account state, multi-location inventory for branch/yard stock, and webhooks (orders/create, customers/update, app/uninstalled) so quotes, approvals and stock stay in sync.

Buyers add products to a quote cart instead of checking out. Each line carries bulk/pallet quantities, project/job reference fields, and a requested delivery date for heavy goods. Contractor and volume tiers apply automatically from the customer's approved trade account. Your team reviews the request, adjusts pricing, and converts it into a PDF quote; once accepted it becomes a real Shopify order (via a draft order) — no double entry.

We scope every build to your catalog, tax setup and fulfilment reality. You get a working app installed in your live store, source-aware documentation, and a defined support window. No fabricated reviews, no "5-minute setup" — an honest delivery lead time and a maintainable, store-native result.

What you get

  • A working Construction & Building-Materials Quote Cart installed and configured in your live Shopify store
  • RFQ cart UI integrated with your active theme (theme-app-extension or app blocks, no destructive theme rewrites)
  • Trade-account registration and approval flow wired to customer metafields
  • Tiered/contractor pricing rules configured against your real product catalog
  • PDF quote template branded to your store, plus the quote-to-order (draft order) conversion path
  • Webhook subscriptions and Admin GraphQL integration set up with least-privilege OAuth scopes
  • Configuration handbook plus a short admin walkthrough for your team
  • A defined post-launch support and bug-fix window agreed before build start

Who this is for

Building-materials & hardware supplier

Sells lumber, aggregates, cladding, fixings and tools by the pallet and needs contractor-specific pricing plus quotes before orders are committed, not anonymous instant checkout.

Trade & wholesale distributor

Runs an approved trade-account model where pricing visibility and tiers depend on the customer being vetted, and quotes must convert cleanly into invoiced orders.

Multi-branch merchant on Shopify

Operates several yards or branches using Shopify multi-location inventory and wants quotes to reflect real stock and a requested delivery date for heavy goods.

Frequently Asked Questions about Construction & Building-Materials Quote Cart

Is this an instant App Store download?

No. This is a build-to-order app. ECOSIRE builds, installs and configures it in your Shopify store against your real catalog, pricing and tax setup. There is no one-click marketplace install — that is deliberate, because contractor pricing, trade accounts and quote rules have to match your business.

How long does delivery take?

Typical lead time is around one working week from kickoff, depending on catalog size, how complex your tiered pricing is, and theme integration scope. We confirm a firm timeline in writing after a short scoping call before any build starts, and you get progress checkpoints along the way.

What ongoing support and updates are included?

Every build includes a defined post-launch support and bug-fix window, agreed before we start. After that, ongoing maintenance, Shopify API-version upkeep (Shopify deprecates API versions on a rolling schedule) and new features are available under a support retainer or per-change basis. We do not abandon the install.

Will it work with my existing theme and checkout?

Yes. We integrate via theme-app-extensions and app blocks rather than rewriting your theme, and the quote cart sits alongside — not on top of — standard Shopify checkout, so customers who can buy directly still can. Accepted quotes convert to standard Shopify orders via draft orders.

How does the trade-account and tiered pricing actually work?

Trade accounts are stored as customer metafields with a pending/approved/suspended state. Once you approve an account, contractor or volume tiers apply automatically at the quote cart. Approval is manual by your team by default, so unvetted buyers never see trade pricing.

Can quotes turn into real orders without double entry?

Yes. When a customer accepts a PDF quote, it converts into a Shopify order through a draft order, carrying the project reference, agreed tier pricing and requested delivery date. Your team does not re-key anything, and the order flows through your normal fulfilment.
