What is BI Dashboard?

A build-to-order Odoo dashboard layer that gives every team a 360-degree, interactive view of live ERP data. ECOSIRE scopes, builds, installs, and supports it — this is a made-to-order engagement, not an instant download. Built to order by ECOSIRE for Odoo 17, 18, 19 — indicative price from $999.00 USD; request a quote for a scoped proposal.

Key Features

Cross-model KPI tiles that blend measures from Sales, Inventory, Accounting, Project, and HR in a single board without spreadsheet exports
Configurable data sources built on the ORM (`read_group`/`search_read` with domains) so every figure reconciles with the source app
Drill-down from any tile to the underlying Odoo records in one click, preserving the applied filters
Interactive click-to-filter, date-range pickers, and period-over-period comparison controls on each board
Computed measures via `@api.depends` fields for margins, ratios, and rollups that recompute correctly on record changes
OWL/JavaScript chart components (bar, line, pie, funnel, gauge, table) rendered against live data, not static snapshots
Per-dashboard and per-tile access control through `ir.model.access.csv` plus record rules for row-level segmentation
Role-based board visibility so finance-only KPIs never render for operational users
Per-tile refresh plus optional scheduled recomputes via `ir.cron` for heavier aggregations
Automated actions to trigger alerts or recomputes when threshold conditions are met on tracked models
Measures exposed over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API for feeding external BI tools or embedding elsewhere
Multi-company aware data sources that respect `company_id` filtering and consolidation rules
Upgrade-safe architecture (clean model methods, QWeb/OWL templates) validated for Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 on Community and Enterprise
Saved board layouts and personal vs shared dashboards so managers self-serve without Studio access

About this Product

Most Odoo teams hit the same wall: the numbers they need to run the business are scattered across Sales, Inventory, Accounting, Project, and HR, and stitching them together means exporting to spreadsheets every Monday morning. Odoo's native pivot views, graph views, and dashboards are genuinely useful, but they are model-bound and read-only in layout — you cannot easily blend sale.order revenue against account.move margin and stock.quant on-hand in one screen, drill from a KPI tile down to the source records, or hand a non-technical manager a self-serve board they can filter without touching Studio. When the questions get cross-functional, native runs out of road and the spreadsheet exports creep back in.

BI Dashboard is a build-to-order Odoo module that ECOSIRE designs and builds around your actual data model. It ships as a proper addon — its own __manifest__.py, a set of models.Model classes for dashboard, tile, and data-source definitions, and OWL/JavaScript components rendering interactive charts on top of your existing records. Tiles are driven by configurable data sources: each one is a saved query over standard Odoo models using the ORM (read_group, search_read, domains, and @api.depends computed measures) so figures always reconcile with what Sales and Accounting see in their own apps — no shadow data warehouse, no nightly ETL to drift out of sync. Boards support cross-model KPIs, drill-down from tile to underlying records, click-to-filter, date-range and comparison controls, and per-tile refresh. Every dashboard and every tile is access-controlled through ir.model.access.csv and record rules, so a regional manager sees only their region and finance-only measures never leak to the shop floor. Where near-real-time push matters we wire automated actions or scheduled recomputes; where you need to feed an external tool, the same measures are reachable over Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API.

Because it is built on the standard ORM and OWL rather than brittle SQL views, the module travels cleanly across Community and Enterprise and is delivered for your exact target — Odoo 17.0, 18.0, or 19.0 — with the view layer and asset bundling matched to that version. We keep custom logic in clean, upgrade-safe model methods and QWeb/OWL templates so a future Odoo point release does not shatter your dashboards.

Delivery is build-to-order and starts with a scoping call to map your KPIs, source models, security segmentation, and the two or three boards that matter most. We then build on our infrastructure, review with you on a staging database, run UAT, and install into your production instance — typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope. Pricing starts from $999 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company consolidation, additional dashboards and cross-app data sources, deeper access-rule segmentation, and external BI/API integration increase the quoted scope. You receive a fixed quote after the scoping call, never a surprise invoice.

What you get

  • Installable, version-matched source code for your Odoo edition (17.0, 18.0, or 19.0) as a clean addon
  • Installation and configuration on your production instance, including data-source and security setup
  • Technical documentation: model reference, data-source definitions, security matrix, and asset structure
  • End-user guide plus a live training session for dashboard owners and viewers
  • UAT on a staging database with a documented rollback plan before production cutover
  • Post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments
  • Git repository handover with full commit history and tagged release
  • Configuration workbook mapping each KPI tile to its source model, domain, and access rule

Who this is for

Operations & finance managers

Leaders who currently rebuild the same weekly report in a spreadsheet and want one live board that blends revenue, margin, and inventory without waiting on IT or exports.

Odoo functional consultants & admins

In-house Odoo owners who know native pivots and Studio but need cross-model, drill-down dashboards with proper row-level security that Studio can't assemble.

C-suite & business owners

Executives who want a 360-degree, self-serve view of the business with period comparisons and click-to-filter, on data that always ties back to the ERP of record.

Multi-entity groups

Organizations running several companies in one Odoo database that need consolidated and per-company boards respecting `company_id` and record-rule segmentation.

Frequently Asked Questions about BI Dashboard

Is this an app I can download and install right now?

No. BI Dashboard is a build-to-order engagement, not an existing apps.odoo.com download. ECOSIRE designs and builds the module around your KPIs and data model, then installs and supports it. You receive installable source code for your Odoo version as part of delivery.

How long does delivery take?

Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope. The clock starts once we've agreed on your dashboards, source models, and security requirements in the scoping call. Larger multi-company or multi-board scopes may extend that timeline, which we confirm in your quote.

How does pricing and scoping work?

Pricing starts from $999 as an indicative from-price for a single-company base scope. After a short scoping call we map your exact requirements and send a fixed quote — no surprise invoicing. Drivers like multi-company consolidation, extra dashboards, deeper access segmentation, and external integrations increase the quoted scope.

What support and updates do I get?

Every engagement includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments. Because the module is built on the standard ORM and OWL with upgrade-safe methods, it is designed to survive Odoo point releases; version upgrades or new dashboards after the support window are quoted as a follow-on engagement.

Will the dashboard numbers match what my other Odoo apps show?

Yes. Tiles read live data through the Odoo ORM (`read_group`/`search_read` with domains) directly from standard models — there is no separate data warehouse or nightly ETL that could drift. A revenue figure on your board is the same figure Sales and Accounting see in their own apps.

Does it work on Odoo Community, and which versions?

It works on both Community and Enterprise, and is delivered for your exact target: Odoo 17.0, 18.0, or 19.0. The view layer and asset bundling are matched to that version so it installs cleanly without Enterprise-only dependencies unless your scope requires them.

Can non-technical managers use it without breaking anything?

Yes. Managers get self-serve boards with click-to-filter, date ranges, and comparisons — no Studio or developer access needed. What each user can see is governed by `ir.model.access.csv` and record rules, so viewers can explore their own data safely without touching configuration.
