Key Features

Dedicated `Objective` and `Key Result` DocTypes with parent/child cascade linking company → department → employee objectives
Automatic progress rollup from key results to parent objectives via `hooks.py` doc events and enqueued background jobs
`KPI Scorecard` DocType that can pull current values from live ERPNext data through whitelisted server methods (sales, tickets, output)
KRA-linked appraisal templates that read approved Key Results into ERPNext's native `Appraisal` so reviews reflect real commitments
Continuous `Check-in` DocType for cadence-based goal updates, with confidence/status flags per key result
Manager and self-review cycles modeled as Frappe workflows with role-based state transitions and approvals
Scheduler events (`scheduler_events` in `hooks.py`) that recompute rollups, send check-in reminders and open review windows on schedule
Role profiles and permission rules so employees see own goals, managers see reports, HR sees the org
Client Scripts driving the cascade and check-in UX inside the Frappe Desk without patching core forms
Whitelisted (`@frappe.whitelist()`) API methods plus standard Frappe REST endpoints for external dashboards and integrations
Weighting and grading logic mirroring ERPNext appraisal scoring so OKR outcomes feed the final appraisal score
Dashboard charts and a Number Card set for objective progress, KPI trend and cycle completion
Configurable cascade depth, review stages and KPI sources agreed at scoping — no hardcoded assumptions
Clean install as a separate Frappe app on your bench alongside `hrms`, migration-safe on `bench migrate`

About this Product

Most HR teams that adopt ERPNext for payroll and leave quickly discover its performance story stops short. ERPNext core ships an Appraisal DocType with a KRA template and goal weighting, but there is no first-class OKR object, no cascade from company objective down to team and individual, no continuous check-in cadence, and no live KPI that pulls its own actuals from your data. Goals get typed into a once-a-year appraisal form and then go stale until the next cycle. Teams end up running the real program in spreadsheets and lose the audit trail, the visibility, and the link back to the ERPNext records that actually move the numbers.

ECOSIRE builds a proper Frappe application — not a bundle of customize-form tweaks — that installs cleanly into your existing bench alongside hrms. It introduces dedicated DocTypes such as Objective, Key Result, KPI Scorecard, Check-in and Review Cycle, each with server-side controllers and hooks.py doc events for validation and rollup. Objectives cascade through a parent/child link so a company-level objective owns department objectives, which own employee objectives; progress rolls up automatically via scheduler events and frappe.enqueue background jobs rather than manual re-entry. KPI scorecards can source their current value from a whitelisted server method that queries live ERPNext data — sales totals, ticket counts, production output — so a metric moves without anyone updating it by hand.

The suite is wired into ERPNext's native appraisal, not bolted beside it. KRA-linked appraisal templates read the employee's approved Key Results and their period progress so the review reflects the OKRs the person actually committed to. Manager and self-review cycles are modeled as their own workflow states with role-based transitions; check-ins are lightweight updates employees log against a key result on a cadence you define. Everything respects Frappe's permission model — we ship role profiles and permission rules so an employee sees their own goals, a manager sees their reports, and HR sees the org. A companion Client Script drives the check-in and cascade UX in the Desk, and every object is reachable through the standard Frappe REST API and our whitelisted methods for dashboards or integrations.

Because this is build-to-order, nothing ships until we agree on scope. We start with a short scoping call, confirm your cascade depth, KPI data sources, review-cycle stages and role mapping, then build against your Frappe/ERPNext v15 or v16 environment. Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope. You receive the installable app source, UAT on a staging bench, an agreed go-live window with a rollback plan, and a post-go-live support window — plus the git repository so your team owns the code outright.

What you get

  • Installable Frappe app source code for your agreed ERPNext v15 or v16 version
  • Installation and configuration on your bench, including role profiles, permissions and scheduler setup
  • Technical documentation: DocType schema, hooks, whitelisted methods, and API endpoints
  • End-user guide plus a live training session for HR admins and managers
  • UAT on a staging bench with a signed-off test plan before any production change
  • Agreed go-live window with a documented rollback plan
  • Post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments
  • Full git repository handover so your team owns and can extend the code

Who this is for

HR / People Operations lead

Runs a structured quarterly OKR and appraisal program and needs it to live inside ERPNext with a real audit trail, not in scattered spreadsheets that break the link to appraisals.

Department manager

Wants to cascade team objectives, review reports' key results, and run manager and self-review cycles without chasing everyone through email at cycle end.

ERPNext administrator / Frappe developer

Needs a clean, migration-safe Frappe app with documented DocTypes, hooks and whitelisted methods that installs beside `hrms` and can be extended in-house after handover.

Head of People / HR director

Wants live visibility into objective progress and KPI trends across the org, tied back to the ERPNext records that actually move the numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions about Performance Management & OKR Suite

Is this an instant download from the Frappe marketplace?

No. This is build-to-order. ECOSIRE scopes, builds, installs and supports the app for your specific ERPNext environment. There is no instant download — we agree on requirements first, then build against your bench.

How long does delivery take?

Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope. The clock starts once we've agreed on your cascade depth, KPI data sources, review-cycle stages and role mapping in the scoping call. Larger or more integrated builds may take longer and we'll tell you upfront.

Which ERPNext and Frappe versions are supported?

We build for Frappe/ERPNext v15 and v16. We target your specific version so the app installs cleanly and survives `bench migrate`. Tell us your version on the scoping call and we build against it.

How does it connect to ERPNext's native appraisal?

It's wired into ERPNext's built-in `Appraisal`, not a separate silo. KRA-linked appraisal templates read the employee's approved Key Results and their period progress, so the appraisal score reflects the OKRs the person actually committed to.

Will it survive upgrades, and do we get support and updates?

Yes. It's a proper standalone Frappe app installed beside `hrms`, so core upgrades don't overwrite it and it's migration-safe. You get a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and config changes, plus the full git repo so your team can maintain and extend it. Extended support and enhancements are available on request.

Do we own the code?

Yes. You receive the complete installable source and the git repository at handover. Your team owns it outright and can extend it in-house without depending on us.

Can KPIs update automatically from our data?

Yes. KPI scorecards can source their current value from whitelisted server methods that query live ERPNext data — for example sales totals, helpdesk ticket counts or production output — so a metric moves without anyone re-typing it. We agree the exact sources during scoping.
