About this Product
Most companies running ERPNext already track hiring in the Job Opening, Job Applicant, and Job Offer DocTypes, but their careers presence lives somewhere else entirely — a static WordPress page, a PDF list of roles, or a generic email inbox. Candidates apply by emailing a CV, someone re-keys them into ERPNext by hand, and there is no branded, indexable page that Google or a jobseeker can actually find. ERPNext's stock website has a /jobs list view, but it is intentionally minimal: no employer branding, no rich SEO metadata, no resume upload UX, no candidate-facing status tracking, and no control over URL structure or structured data. For an employer trying to compete for talent, that is where the native path runs out of road.
We build a proper Frappe application (its own module, installed on your bench alongside ERPNext) that turns your ERPNext instance into the system of record behind a professional careers website. The public side is a set of branded Frappe web pages and portal templates — a careers landing page, filterable job listings, and individual job detail pages — rendered server-side so they are fully crawlable and carry per-role JobPosting schema.org structured data, clean canonical URLs, meta titles/descriptions, and Open Graph tags. Each public listing is driven directly by your Job Opening records, so publishing or closing a role in ERPNext instantly updates the site; no second CMS to maintain.
On the application side, the one-click apply form posts through a whitelisted Frappe method (@frappe.whitelist(allow_guest=True)) that validates input, handles the resume file upload into the Frappe File store attached to the record, and creates a Job Applicant linked to the correct Job Opening — the exact document your recruiters already work from. We wire the workflow with hooks.py doc events and, where needed, server scripts and scheduler events: acknowledgement emails to the candidate on submit, notifications to the hiring team, and optional status-change emails as recruiters move the applicant through your recruitment stages. Candidates get a lightweight status-tracking view (via a secure token or portal login) so they can see where their application stands without contacting HR. Everything respects Frappe's permission model — public guest access is scoped to exactly the read/create operations needed, and everything else stays behind your existing role profiles.
Because this is build-to-order, we start from your brand, your role taxonomy, and your existing ERPNext configuration rather than shipping a rigid template. After a short scoping call we confirm the exact scope in writing, then design, build, and test on a staging copy of your site. Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope, depending on branding depth and how many workflow/notification rules you need. We install on your Frappe/ERPNext v15 or v16 bench, run UAT with you on staging, and only then go live — with a rollback plan, a git repository handover, and a post-go-live support window so you are never left holding unfamiliar code.
What you get
- Installable source code for your version as a standalone Frappe app (custom module, DocType extensions, web templates)
- Installation and configuration on your Frappe/ERPNext v15/v16 bench, including hooks, permissions, and email settings
- Branding pass wiring your logo, colors, and copy into the careers pages and application templates
- Technical documentation: architecture notes, DocType/field map, whitelisted methods, hooks, and config reference
- User guide plus a live training session for your HR/recruitment team on managing openings and applicants
- UAT on a staging copy of your site with a documented rollback plan before go-live
- Post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments
- Git repository handover with full commit history so your team (or any Frappe developer) can maintain it
Who this is for
HR / Talent Acquisition Lead
Owns hiring and wants a branded careers site where every application lands as a ready-to-work `Job Applicant` in ERPNext — no CV inbox, no manual re-keying, and a clear pipeline from listing to offer.
Employer Brand / Marketing Manager
Cares that the careers pages match brand guidelines, rank in search, and appear in Google Jobs. Needs SEO metadata, structured data, and clean URLs that a static jobs page or generic ERPNext list can't provide.
ERPNext System Administrator
Runs the bench and insists on an upgrade-safe app that touches no core files, respects role profiles and permissions, and arrives as a maintainable git repo with docs rather than a pile of undocumented customizations.
Operations / Business Owner (SME)
Already runs the business on ERPNext and wants recruitment consolidated there too — one system of record, a professional public face for hiring, and a fixed-scope build they can budget and support.
How Recruitment Careers Portal & Job Board Compares
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | ERPNext Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Branded careers website | Fully branded pages built to your guidelines | Possible but you design and build it | Generic template with limited theming | Minimal unbranded `/jobs` list view |
| SEO & Google Jobs schema | JSON-LD `JobPosting`, canonicals, meta/OG built in | Only if your developer implements it | Basic or absent structured data | No structured data or SEO metadata |
| ERPNext integration | Auto-creates linked `Job Applicant` records | You build the whitelisted methods and mapping | Varies; often loose or one-way sync | Native but bare-bones apply flow |
| Resume upload & handling | Validated upload into Frappe File store, attached | Must be coded and tested yourself | Basic upload, limited validation | Minimal, no branded UX |
| Candidate status tracking | Secure token/portal status view included | Extra build effort | Rarely included | Not available to candidates |
| Upgrade safety | Standalone app, no core patches | Depends on your discipline | Depends on app quality | N/A — it is core |
| Ownership & handover | Full git repo + docs + training | You own it but carry all the effort | Vendor-locked, source often closed | No custom asset to own |
| Time & cost to value | Fixed scope, one working week, supported | Unpredictable timeline and cost | Fast to install, hard to tailor | Free but functionally insufficient |
Frequently Asked Questions about Recruitment Careers Portal & Job Board
How long does delivery take?
This is a build-to-order product, not an instant download. After a short scoping call we confirm the exact scope in writing, then design, build, and test on staging. Typical delivery is one working week from confirmed scope, depending on branding depth and how many workflow and notification rules you need.
Does this modify ERPNext core or is it a separate app?
It is a separate, standalone Frappe application installed on your bench alongside ERPNext — its own module with its own DocTypes, web templates, and `hooks.py`. We do not patch core files, so your ERPNext stays upgrade-safe and the careers app can be maintained independently.
How do applications get into ERPNext?
The public apply form posts to a whitelisted guest method that validates the submission, stores the uploaded resume in the Frappe File store, and creates a `Job Applicant` record linked to the matching `Job Opening`. Your recruiters work the exact same DocTypes they already use — nothing is stored in a separate system.
Will the job pages actually rank and show in Google Jobs?
The listings are server-side rendered (fully crawlable), each role emits `JobPosting` schema.org JSON-LD, and every page has canonical URLs plus meta and Open Graph tags. That makes them eligible for Google Jobs and standard search indexing. We implement the technical foundations; ongoing ranking also depends on your roles, content, and site authority.
Which ERPNext versions do you support, and what about updates?
We build and test against Frappe/ERPNext v15 and v16. You receive the full git repository so your team can maintain it, and the post-go-live support window covers defect fixes and configuration tweaks. Version upgrades or new features beyond that window are available as a separate engagement or support retainer.
Can candidates track their application status?
Yes. We include a candidate-facing status view accessed via a secure token link or portal login, so applicants can see their stage without emailing HR. Status changes can also trigger optional notification emails driven by `hooks.py` doc events as recruiters advance the applicant.
Can you match our exact branding and role taxonomy?
Yes — that is the point of building to order. We wire in your logo, colors, and copy, and map the listings and application fields to your departments, locations, and employment types rather than forcing a fixed template. Anything unusual is confirmed during scoping so the estimate and delivery reflect it.
