Every Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations deployment reaches the same moment. The analytical workspaces that ship with the application look fine in a demo, and then a CFO asks for margin by customer segment across three legal entities in a single reporting currency, or a supply chain director asks which items are driving the inventory value increase and whether it is demand or purchasing behaviour. The embedded tiles cannot answer it. Somebody exports to Excel. Then somebody else exports to Excel, using a slightly different filter, and now there are two numbers.
The usual next step is a Power BI file built by whoever is most available, pointed straight at F&O with a live connection or a hand-rolled query. It works for a month. Then it times out, or it double-counts intercompany, or the person who built it leaves and nobody can read the model.
The gap is not Power BI skills. It is the modelling layer between F&O's normalised transactional schema and a semantic model a finance or operations leader can slice without being wrong.

We start by choosing the right source with you rather than assuming one. For most deployments that means the entity store aggregate measurements for pre-aggregated financial and operational data, the data lake export of your entities where you need transaction-level grain and history, or a combination — aggregates for speed, lake for detail drill-through. Where a specific figure has no suitable aggregate measurement, ECOSIRE builds one: an aggregate measurement definition in a dedicated model, refreshed on a schedule through the batch framework, exposed the same way the standard ones are.
The centre of the build is a properly designed Power BI dataset: conformed date, legal entity, customer, vendor, item and ledger dimension tables; explicit relationships rather than ambiguous bidirectional filters; and a measure layer written in DAX with time intelligence, currency handling and dimension-aware aggregation. Financial dimensions are modelled from your actual dimension structure — if your business runs on cost centre, business unit and project, those are first-class filters, not a concatenated string. Multi-entity groups get a reporting-currency layer so consolidated views do not silently mix currencies, and intercompany elimination is handled explicitly where your group requires it.
Report pages are built to the questions you named in scoping, not to a generic template. Typical finance coverage includes trial balance and ledger movement, profit and loss with prior-period and budget comparison, accounts receivable and payable ageing, cash position and collections performance. Typical supply chain coverage includes inventory value and ageing, stock turns, purchase price variance, on-time delivery, open sales and purchase pipeline, and warehouse throughput. Project-driven businesses get project profitability, WIP and committed cost. Every visual is traceable back to a documented measure — no orphan calculations buried in a visual filter.
Reports are surfaced where people already work. ECOSIRE builds F&O workspace extensions in X++ that embed the reports as analytical tabs, passing the current user's legal entity and relevant record context so a supply chain manager opening an item sees that item's analytics rather than a blank slicer. Row-level security is designed alongside the model so a user's F&O legal entity access and, where required, their organisational scope are reflected in what the report returns — not merely hidden in the visual.
Refresh schedules are set against your actual data volumes and your batch window, using incremental refresh where the grain and volume justify it. Aggregate measurement refresh jobs run in the batch framework as proper batch tasks. Where a report is genuinely operational rather than analytical — a queue an operator watches — we say so and use the right mechanism instead of pretending a scheduled dataset is real time. Where Dual-write or a Power Platform surface is a better home for a specific interaction, we wire it rather than duplicating data.
All F&O components are extension-based X++ in a dedicated model — no overlayering. The Power BI artefacts are delivered as files you own, deployable into your own tenant workspaces under your own capacity and governance.
