The pain
The standard Shopify integration for Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory works on a poll. It wakes up on a schedule, pulls what it can see, and maps a fixed set of fields. For a shop doing a handful of orders a day that is fine. For a shop running flash sales, bundles, multiple locations or more than one storefront, it produces a specific and expensive set of problems.
Stock drifts. A product sells on Shopify and the reduction does not reach Zoho Inventory until the next cycle, so your warehouse team picks against numbers that are already wrong, or you oversell an item that went out of stock forty minutes ago.
Mapping runs out. Your Shopify order carries a discount code, a shipping method, a gift-wrap line, a delivery date from a cart attribute, a B2B customer reference and a marketplace tag. The standard sync has nowhere to put most of them, so finance re-keys them into Zoho Books by hand or simply loses them.
Payouts do not reconcile. Shopify Payments deposits a net figure. Your Books ledger has gross sales invoices. Fees, refunds, chargebacks and adjustments sit in the difference, and someone spends the first three days of every month working out why the bank line does not match.
And it is one-way where you need two. A price change or a stock adjustment made in Zoho Inventory does not travel back to the storefront, so the ERP stops being the master and everyone quietly starts trusting Shopify instead.
What ECOSIRE builds
We build a webhook-driven connector between your Shopify store or stores and your Zoho organisation, mapped to how your business actually records a sale.
Real-time order capture
We subscribe to the Shopify webhook topics that matter — order creation, payment, fulfilment, cancellation, refund and update — and process them in a Zoho Catalyst or Creator endpoint that verifies the HMAC signature on every request. Each event is written to a Sync Log record before processing, so a failure is visible and replayable rather than silent. Orders land in Zoho Books as Sales Orders or Invoices, or in Zoho Inventory as Sales Orders, depending on the flow you choose during scoping.
Field mapping you define
Discounts, shipping lines, gift-wrap, tips, cart attributes, order tags, note attributes and custom line properties are each mapped to a target: a line item, a Books custom field, an Inventory custom field, or a CRM field on the linked Contact. Multi-currency orders carry the Shopify presentment currency and exchange rate into the Books transaction. Tax mapping is built explicitly: Shopify tax lines are matched to Zoho Books tax rates and tax groups, including GST treatment for Indian organisations and VAT treatment for Gulf, UK and EU organisations, with place-of-supply set from the shipping address.
Two-way inventory and pricing
Stock changes flow both ways. A Shopify sale decrements the correct Zoho Inventory warehouse; a receipt, adjustment or transfer in Zoho Inventory pushes the new available quantity to the matching Shopify location through the inventory levels API. Price and product field changes made in Zoho Inventory update the Shopify variant. We build a single configurable direction of truth per field, so you never end up with two systems overwriting each other in a loop — and a loop-guard that ignores an inbound webhook triggered by our own outbound write.
Product and variant matching
Products are matched on SKU by default, with a stored Shopify product and variant ID on the Zoho item so renames do not break the link. Bundles and composite items map to their Zoho Inventory composite equivalents. Options, metafields and images are mapped where you need them, and new Shopify products can either create Zoho items automatically or wait in a review queue.
Customers, and CRM if you use it
Shopify customers are matched to Zoho Books contacts on email, then phone, with billing and shipping addresses written to the contact's address records. Where you run Zoho CRM, we create or update the Contact and Account and link the order, so sales and support see purchase history without leaving CRM.
Payout reconciliation
This is the part teams most often ask for and least often get. We pull Shopify payout and balance transaction data and build the matching entries in Zoho Books: gross sales, processing fees to an expense account, refunds, chargebacks and adjustments, all grouped by payout so the deposit in your bank feed matches a single reconcilable set of lines. Manual payment gateways and cash-on-delivery flows are handled separately with their own mapping.
Multi-store and multi-location
Several storefronts can feed one Zoho organisation, each with its own mapping profile, warehouse assignment and numbering series. Shopify locations map to Zoho Inventory warehouses individually rather than collapsing to one pooled figure.
Operations you can see
A Sync Log module and a dashboard show every event, its status, its payload and its error. Failed events are retried with backoff and can be replayed by hand from the record. A daily reconciliation job compares order counts and stock positions between the two systems and emails the differences, so a broken webhook is discovered by the system rather than by a customer.
Who this is for
Shopify merchants already running Zoho Books or Zoho Inventory who have outgrown polled sync: multi-location retailers, brands selling on more than one storefront, businesses with real tax complexity such as Indian GST or Gulf VAT, and finance teams spending days on payout reconciliation. It also suits merchants who want Zoho Inventory to be the master of stock and price across channels.
How delivery works
Scoping call. We go through a real order from your store end to end — every line, discount, tax component and attribute — and agree exactly where each element lands in Zoho. We confirm your Zoho Books and Inventory plans, your Shopify plan, how many stores and locations are in scope, and whether payout reconciliation is included.
Fixed quote. You get a written mapping specification and a fixed price with a delivery window. Work begins only when you approve it.
Build. Typical lead time is two to four weeks, longer if multiple storefronts or complex composite items are in scope. We develop against a Shopify development store and a Zoho sandbox or trial organisation.
Install in test, then production. We install into your test organisation and run a live matrix with you: a paid order, a partially fulfilled order, a discounted multi-currency order, a refund, a cancellation, a stock adjustment pushed back to Shopify and a full payout cycle. We reconcile the results together before touching production. Go-live is scheduled with an agreed cut-over point so historic orders are not double-imported.
Support. Thirty days of post-go-live support cover mapping adjustments, webhook re-subscription, failed-event triage and user questions. Extended support is available separately.
The connector, its mappings and its logs live in your own Zoho organisation and your own Shopify admin, and the source is yours.
