About this Product

The Magento / Adobe Commerce Connector is a bidirectional integration between your Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce storefront and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. We build it in AL as a per-tenant extension (not a generic AppSource download), deploy it directly onto your Business Central environment, and support it as your catalog, pricing and fulfillment rules evolve.

On the storefront side the connector talks to the Magento REST API (/rest/V1/...) using a dedicated integration token; on the BC side it uses the Business Central REST/OData v4 API plus AL table and page extensions so your team configures everything from inside BC. A Connection Setup page holds the Magento base URL, store-view scope and credentials; Job Queue entries drive scheduled polling while webhooks (where your Magento edition supports them) trigger near-real-time order capture.

Concretely, the build handles: pushing the BC item catalog — including attributes, variants and product images — to Magento; pushing available inventory and price/special-price updates as stock and cost change; importing storefront sales orders as BC sales orders or invoices with correct tax, shipping and payment mapping; and mapping Magento customers, customer groups and addresses to BC customers and price groups. Multi-website / multi-store-view topologies map to your BC locations, dimensions and number series.

Every record exchange is logged to a custom Integration Log table with retry and idempotency keys, guarded by dedicated permission sets, and surfaced through AL event subscribers so your other extensions can react. Where you run Power Platform, we can optionally surface sync status through Dataverse. You own the source, the AL app file and a runbook. Because it is bespoke, the field mapping reflects your SKUs, tax schema and warehouse setup — not a lowest-common-denominator template.

How long until the connector is live, and how is it delivered?

This is a build-to-order extension, not an instant AppSource download. After a short scoping call we typically deliver in 3 to 5 weeks depending on catalog complexity, the number of store views and how custom your tax/warehouse setup is. We build in AL, install it first as a per-tenant extension on your Business Central sandbox for UAT, then deploy to production with a guided cutover.

Will it work with both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce?

Yes. The connector uses the standard Magento REST API, which is shared across Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce (cloud or on-prem). Some capabilities — notably native webhooks and certain B2B pricing structures — are richer on Adobe Commerce; we confirm your exact edition during scoping and map features accordingly so nothing is promised that your edition can't support.

Do you handle ongoing support and updates after go-live?

Because Microsoft ships Business Central major updates twice a year and Adobe/Magento release on their own cadence, we offer a maintenance plan that keeps the extension compatible across BC upgrades and Magento API changes, adds new field mappings as your catalog grows, and monitors the Integration Log for sync exceptions.

Is this a middleware subscription like Dynamics Connector or a third-party iPaaS?

No. It runs natively inside your Business Central tenant as an AL extension calling the Magento and BC REST APIs directly. There is no separate per-order iPaaS bill and no third party holding your data in transit. You own the source code and the app file, so you are never locked into us to keep it running.

Can it sync more than the standard catalog, inventory and orders?

Yes — that's the point of building it to order. Because the field mapping is bespoke, we routinely extend it to credit-memo/refund sync, shipment and tracking writeback to Magento, customer-group-specific pricing, multi-currency, and dimension tagging by store view.
