Busy retail and hospitality counters lose seconds on every ticket when the POS product grid forces a single fixed layout. Odoo's native Point of Sale ships one card-based product screen: fixed tile size, category-only filtering, and no cashier-controlled sort. When a store carries hundreds of SKUs, or when different shifts and terminals want different densities — a compact list for a barista who knows the menu, large image tiles for a boutique, price-sorted views for a warehouse outlet — the core screen runs out of road. There is no supported way to toggle layouts on the fly, sort by price, name, recent sales, or stock, or persist a preferred view per user or per terminal without touching source you do not own.
Advance POS View is the module ECOSIRE builds to close that gap. We extend the POS front end (OWL components and the point-of-sale JavaScript assets) with a view switcher that lets the cashier flip between grid, compact list, and image-forward layouts without leaving the order screen, plus an in-session sort control (name, price ascending/descending, category, and — where your data supports it — best-selling or on-hand quantity). Preferences persist through res.users and POS-config settings so a terminal or an operator reopens on the layout they last used. On the back end we add the configuration surface via a pos.config extension and res.config.settings fields, gated with ir.model.access.csv and record rules so only POS managers change defaults, and we keep the model layer honest with @api.depends computes rather than stored duplicates that drift.
Technically, the work lives where Odoo expects it: a proper __manifest__.py declaring the point_of_sale dependency and the OWL/asset bundles, XML/QWeb templates for the new view components, and Python models that read cleanly over the JSON-RPC/XML-RPC boundary so nothing bypasses the ORM. We honor Community vs Enterprise differences — the module targets the standard POS in Community and adapts to the Enterprise POS where your edition adds surfaces — and we build and test against Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 so the version you run is the version we certify.
Because this is build-to-order, delivery follows a clear path: a scoping call to confirm the exact layouts, sort keys, and persistence rules you need, a fixed quotation, development on a branch, then UAT on a staging copy of your database with a rollback plan before we install on production. Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope, depending on how many custom layouts and data-driven sort keys you want. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company POS setups, additional bespoke layouts, data-driven sorts that require new computed fields or reporting joins, and localization depth increase the quoted scope.
Runs several POS registers across stores and wants each terminal or shift to open on the layout that suits its catalog and staff, without editing core Odoo or retraining everyone.
Needs cashiers to find items fast during rushes — compact lists for known menus, price and category sorting — to cut seconds off every ticket at peak.
Wants the enhancement delivered as clean, ORM-respecting source with `ir.model.access.csv` security and a git handover, so it survives upgrades and their team can maintain it.
Sells hundreds of variants and needs image-forward or dense-list views with sorting by name, price, or stock so staff aren't scrolling endless uniform tiles.
| Critério | ECOSIRE | Construção personalizada | Concorrente | Odoo nativo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ownership & fit | Built to your confirmed scope; source and git repo handed over | Fully bespoke but you fund all design and testing | Generic off-the-shelf module, take it as-is | |
| View layouts & sorting | Switchable grid/list/image views + configurable sort keys | Whatever you specify and build | Fixed feature set, limited sort options | |
| Preference persistence | Per-user and per-terminal via `res.users`/`pos.config` | Possible if you build it | Rarely per-terminal; often session-only | |
| Odoo version coverage | Certified on 17.0/18.0/19.0, Community & Enterprise | Only the versions you pay to cover | Often lags new Odoo releases | |
| Security & architecture | `ir.model.access.csv` + record rules, ORM-respecting, asset bundles | Depends on your team's discipline | Varies; some patch core files | |
| Delivery & risk | UAT on staging + rollback plan before production | You own the risk and QA | Self-install, self-test | |
| Support & updates | Post-go-live window + quotable version migrations | Your team maintains it | Vendor forum, best-effort | |
| Cost model | Indicative from $249, fixed quote after scoping | Typically the highest total cost | Low sticker price, uncertain fit |
No. Advance POS View is build-to-order. ECOSIRE scopes, builds, installs, and supports it for your specific Odoo environment — it is not an instant download from any marketplace. You receive installable source for the version we build for you.
Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. After a short scoping call and a fixed quotation, we build on a branch, run UAT on a staging copy of your database, and then install on production. Timelines lengthen with more custom layouts or data-driven sort keys.
Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope). We confirm the exact layouts, sort keys, and persistence rules on a scoping call, then issue a fixed quotation. Multi-company POS, extra bespoke layouts, data-driven sorts, and localization depth increase the quoted scope — but you approve the fixed price before we build.
We build and test against Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, on both Community and Enterprise Point of Sale. We target the version and edition you actually run and certify the module against it before handover.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration tweaks. Because you receive the git repository and full source, your team can maintain it, and we can quote a version migration when you upgrade Odoo (for example 18.0 to 19.0).
No. Advance POS View is a display and navigation layer. It changes how products are shown and sorted on the order screen; it does not alter pricelists, taxes, availability logic, or order math. Existing POS behavior is preserved.
No. We extend POS through OWL components, QWeb templates, and dedicated asset bundles declared in `__manifest__.py`, plus additive model fields with `ir.model.access.csv` and record rules. This keeps the module upgrade-friendly and isolated from core.
