Technically, the app extends the standard Workflow and Approval Entry framework with new workflow event and response codes registered via the Workflow Event/Response Handling codeunits, so your operations team configures approvals in the familiar Workflows page — no hard-coded logic. Table and page extensions add approval status, sign-off, and electronic-signature fields to the Production Order, Production BOM, and Routing pages. EventSubscriber codeunits subscribe to OnBeforeChangeStatusOnProdOrder, BOM/routing certification, and quality-release triggers to block the transition until approvals clear. Every decision writes an immutable audit record (approver, UTC timestamp, comment, signature hash) surfaced on a dedicated FactBox and exposed over the Business Central REST/OData API for Power BI or Dataverse / Power Platform reporting. Threshold and escalation rules (order value, quantity, item category) route to the right approver chain and escalate via the Job Queue when an approval ages out.
