Building-materials and trade selling doesn't fit a one-click checkout. Contractors order by the pallet, expect tiered pricing tied to their trade account, and need a written quote before a project budget is approved. The Construction & Building-Materials Quote Cart replaces Shopify's standard "Add to Cart → Checkout" with a request-for-quote (RFQ) workflow purpose-built for hardware, lumber, aggregates, cladding and MEP suppliers.
This is a build-to-order app, not an instant App Store install. ECOSIRE designs, builds, installs and configures it directly in your Shopify store, then supports it. We implement it as a Shopify app (or theme-app-extension where appropriate) using the Admin GraphQL API, draft orders, customer metafields for trade-account state, multi-location inventory for branch/yard stock, and webhooks (orders/create, customers/update, app/uninstalled) so quotes, approvals and stock stay in sync.
Buyers add products to a quote cart instead of checking out. Each line carries bulk/pallet quantities, project/job reference fields, and a requested delivery date for heavy goods. Contractor and volume tiers apply automatically from the customer's approved trade account. Your team reviews the request, adjusts pricing, and converts it into a PDF quote; once accepted it becomes a real Shopify order (via a draft order) — no double entry.

Is this an instant App Store download?
No. This is a build-to-order app. ECOSIRE builds, installs and configures it in your Shopify store against your real catalog, pricing and tax setup. There is no one-click marketplace install — that is deliberate, because contractor pricing, trade accounts and quote rules have to match your business.
How long does delivery take?
Typical lead time is around 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff, depending on catalog size, how complex your tiered pricing is, and theme integration scope. We confirm a firm timeline in writing after a short scoping call before any build starts, and you get progress checkpoints along the way.
What ongoing support and updates are included?
Every build includes a defined post-launch support and bug-fix window, agreed before we start. After that, ongoing maintenance, Shopify API-version upkeep (Shopify deprecates API versions on a rolling schedule) and new features are available under a support retainer or per-change basis. We do not abandon the install.
Will it work with my existing theme and checkout?
Yes. We integrate via theme-app-extensions and app blocks rather than rewriting your theme, and the quote cart sits alongside — not on top of — standard Shopify checkout, so customers who can buy directly still can. Accepted quotes convert to standard Shopify orders via draft orders.
How does the trade-account and tiered pricing actually work?
Trade accounts are stored as customer metafields with a pending/approved/suspended state. Once you approve an account, contractor or volume tiers apply automatically at the quote cart. Approval is manual by your team by default, so unvetted buyers never see trade pricing.
Can quotes turn into real orders without double entry?
Yes. When a customer accepts a PDF quote, it converts into a Shopify order through a draft order, carrying the project reference, agreed tier pricing and requested delivery date. Your team does not re-key anything, and the order flows through your normal fulfilment.
