Warehouses running on out-of-the-box Odoo hit a wall the moment volume climbs. Odoo Community's stock module gives you moves, pickings and lots, but the barcode-driven mobile flows live in Enterprise, and even those are opinionated: fixed screen sequences, limited offline behaviour, and little room for your own scan-to-confirm rules, GS1 barcode parsing, or blind-count logic. Teams end up keying quantities into a laptop at the dock, printing paper pick lists, and reconciling discrepancies after the fact. The pain is not that Odoo can't track stock — it's that the last three feet, between the operator's hands and the stock.move.line record, are still manual.
This is a build-to-order engagement: ECOSIRE designs and builds a warehouse automation module tailored to your operation, then installs and supports it on your instance. We start from Odoo's native stock.picking, stock.move.line and stock.quant models so nothing forks the core inventory engine — your valuation, reordering and reporting stay intact. On top of that we build an OWL-based mobile interface (or a hardened controller layer for native scanner browsers) that drives receiving, internal transfers, cluster and wave picking, packing, and cycle counts entirely from a barcode gun or phone camera. Scan events post directly against stock.move.line through validated server methods, with @api.constrains guards and record rules (ir.rule) so an operator only ever touches the pickings for their assigned warehouse or team.
Technically, the kit is delivered as a proper Odoo module: a clean __manifest__.py declaring dependencies on stock (and barcodes/stock_barcode concepts where your edition supports them), models/ extending stock objects with compute fields via @api.depends for real-time scan progress, security/ir.model.access.csv plus record rules, XML/OWL views/ for the mobile screens, QWeb templates for pick lists, put-away labels and packing slips, and data/ for automated actions that fire on scan completion — auto-validate a transfer, trigger a backorder, or notify a supervisor. GS1/EAN/QR parsing, product-and-lot-in-one-scan, quantity multipliers, and location confirmation are all configurable. Where you need integration, the module exposes and consumes Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so third-party WMS, shipping label printers, or a scale can round-trip data without bypassing Odoo's business logic. We build and test against Odoo 17.0, 18.0 and 19.0, and adapt the mobile layer to the Community/Enterprise difference in your deployment.
Delivery works the way a build should. After a short scoping call we confirm the exact warehouse flows, hardware and barcode symbologies in a written scope, build on a staging copy of your database, run UAT with your operators, then cut over with a rollback plan and a post-go-live support window. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope, depending on how many flows and integrations are in play. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-warehouse or multi-company routing, extra device/printer/scale integrations, GS1 localization depth, and migrating historical barcode or location data increase the quoted scope. You get a fixed quote after the scoping call — never a surprise invoice.
Runs daily fulfilment on Odoo and needs receipts, picks and counts done on scanners instead of paper, with real-time visibility into pick progress and count variances — without leaving the native stock engine.
Delivering an Odoo project where the client's mobile warehouse requirements exceed the standard barcode flows, and wants a white-label, source-delivered module they can install, support and extend rather than build from scratch.
Owns the Odoo instance and hardware fleet, needs GS1 barcode parsing, integrations to scales or label printers, and strict operator access rules enforced by record rules — all upgrade-safe against core.
Handles multiple warehouses or client accounts on one Odoo database and requires per-warehouse operator scoping, directed put-away, and wave picking tuned to their throughput and layout.
| Criterio | ECOSIRE | Construcción personalizada | Competidor | Odoo Nativo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to your warehouse flows | Built to your exact receiving, put-away, picking and count processes | Fully bespoke but you own the whole build | Fixed feature set; you adapt to it | |
| Barcode / GS1 parsing | Configurable GS1, EAN, UPC, Code-128, QR to your symbologies | Whatever you specify and pay to build | Common symbologies, limited custom parsing | |
| Operator access scoping | Record rules per warehouse, team or picking type | You design and test the security model | Generic roles, often not warehouse-scoped | |
| Integrations (scales, printers, WMS) | Scoped XML-RPC/JSON-RPC integrations to your devices | Possible, at full custom cost | Rarely included; add-ons or none | |
| Delivery model | Build-to-order, 2-4 weeks from confirmed scope | Longer, dependent on your team's capacity | Instant download, self-implemented | |
| Source & ownership | Full source plus git repo handover | You own it entirely | Licensed binary or restricted source | |
| Support & tuning | Post-go-live support window plus training | Self-supported or separate retainer | Vendor tickets, variable responsiveness | |
| Upgrade safety | Extends core models; tested on 17/18/19 | Depends on your engineering discipline | Depends on vendor's version support |
This is a build-to-order module, not an instant download. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope. Simple single-warehouse receiving-and-picking flows land toward the shorter end; multiple flows, custom barcode logic, or external integrations extend the timeline. We give you a concrete date in the fixed quote after the scoping call.
Pricing starts from $249 as an indicative single-company base-scope figure. It is not a fixed final price. After a short scoping call we confirm your warehouse flows, hardware, barcode symbologies and integrations, then issue a fixed written quote. Drivers like multi-warehouse or multi-company routing, extra device or printer integrations, GS1 localization depth, and historical data migration increase the quoted scope.
We build and test against Odoo 17.0, 18.0 and 19.0. The module works on Community and Enterprise; because Enterprise ships its own barcode app, we adapt the mobile layer to your edition so we complement rather than collide with what you already have. Tell us your exact version and edition on the scoping call.
Every engagement includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration tuning, and you receive the full source plus git repository so your team or partner can maintain it. Version upgrades (for example moving from Odoo 18 to 19) and new feature work are quoted separately as follow-on engagements.
No. The module extends Odoo's native `stock.picking`, `stock.move.line` and `stock.quant` rather than replacing them, so your valuation, reordering, routes and reporting continue to work unchanged. We build on a staging copy of your database first and run UAT before any production cutover, with a documented rollback plan.
It runs in the browser, so it works with rugged Android scanner guns, standard phones and tablets with a camera, and USB or Bluetooth scanners in keyboard-wedge mode. We match the symbology parsing (GS1, EAN, UPC, Code-128, QR) and label templates to the devices and printers you already own, confirmed during scoping.
Yes. The module can exchange data through Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API and QWeb label reports, so weigh scales, shipping-label printers and external WMS or carrier systems round-trip through Odoo's business logic instead of bypassing it. Each integration is scoped and quoted based on the target system's API.
