We build a Canned Replies & Snippet Library that lives natively inside Odoo and plugs into every messaging surface. The core is a new mail.canned.reply model (extending Odoo's own where present on 17.0/18.0/19.0) carrying a rich-text body_html, attachments via ir.attachment, a many2one category_id, an owning user_id for personal snippets, and a shared/team flag. Dynamic placeholders — customer name, company, order reference, agent signature — are rendered through QWeb against the active record context at insert time, so <t t-out="object.partner_id.name"/> resolves correctly whether the reply is fired from a helpdesk ticket, a sales order chatter, or a raw Discuss channel. A /shortcut trigger and an OWL quick-search insert palette in the composer let agents drop the right reply in two keystrokes. Access is governed by ir.model.access.csv plus record rules tied to res.groups, so a category can be restricted to, say, the Finance team while personal snippets stay private to their user_id.
Beyond insertion, the module adds the operational layer native Odoo lacks. Each canned reply supports multi-language variants (a child model keyed on res.lang) with automatic language selection from the recipient's partner.lang, so a reply inserted for a French customer renders in French with no agent decision. Usage is tracked in a mail.canned.reply.usage log feeding computed fields (@api.depends) and reporting views: most-used replies, per-agent usage, and a stale/unused snippet report driven by an automated action. Every reply carries a version history with restore, and an optional approval workflow (a state field with draft/pending/approved plus a manager res.groups gate) lets the shared library be curated before snippets go live.
