Operations intake leads need to capture validated inbound records without losing ownership when records cross system boundaries. This concept starts with the business decision and evidence required at each stage, then maps that intent to supported Microsoft Power Platform surfaces.

Workflow and object design

Receive a field applications signal, validate its source and required fields, resolve canvas app, offline profile and Dataverse row, apply the intake & capture decision rules, write the approved state, then record a correlated audit result. The source event is field.capture.requested; the resulting audit event is field.capture.recorded. The mapped business surface is canvas app, offline profile and Dataverse row.

Technical approach

The scoped design may use Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, standard or custom connectors, managed solutions, DLP policies, environment variables, ALM pipelines. Authentication is based on Microsoft Entra application or connection references using least-privilege identities. The implementation accounts for Power Platform request limits, connector throttles, flow concurrency and Dataverse service protection limits.

Failure and reconciliation design

Every request uses the idempotency key power-platform-field-capture:source-id:revision. Retryable transport and throttle responses enter bounded backoff; validation and mapping failures enter a visible exception queue. A reconciliation pass compares source revision, target identifier and recorded state, then permits controlled replay without duplicating the business action.
