This is a build-to-order MercadoPago integration for Magento 2 (Open Source) and Adobe Commerce, engineered around Magento's native Payment Gateway abstraction rather than bolted onto the legacy Mage_Payment flow. ECOSIRE delivers it as a versioned module under app/code/Ecosire/MercadoPago, wired through di.xml using Magento\Payment\Gateway\Command, value handlers and validators, so authorize, capture, sale and refund each map to a discrete gateway command against the MercadoPago Payments API.

LATAM checkout is the point of the module. Brazilian buyers get Pix (with QR + copy-paste code and expiry handling) and boleto bancário; Mexican buyers get OXXO cash vouchers; and across BR/MX/AR shoppers can pay by card in installments (cuotas/parcelas), with installment options resolved live from MercadoPago so the storefront shows real interest-bearing and interest-free plans. Wallet checkout (Checkout Pro redirect / Brick) is included for account-based payment.

On the back end, an asynchronous webhook controller validates MercadoPago IPN/Webhook notifications, reconciles payment status (approved, pending, in_process, rejected, refunded, charged_back) and drives Magento order state and invoices through service contracts — critical because Pix, boleto and OXXO are confirmed minutes to days after order placement. Online refunds and partial refunds post back through the credit-memo flow. Admin configuration lives under Stores → Configuration with proper ACL, encrypted credentials, sandbox/production toggles and per-website scope.

ECOSIRE builds the module to your store's Magento version, theme and checkout (Luma or a headless/PWA front via GraphQL/REST), installs it on your environment, and supports it after launch. It is not an instant Adobe Commerce Marketplace download — there is an honest delivery lead time while we configure it against your MercadoPago account and country.

Which payment methods and countries are supported?

Cards with installments (cuotas/parcelas) across Brazil, Mexico and Argentina; Pix and boleto bancário for Brazil; OXXO cash vouchers for Mexico; and Wallet/Checkout Pro. Available methods are country-aware, so customers only see options valid for the configured MercadoPago account. If you need additional MercadoPago methods for a specific country, we can scope them into the build.

How are Pix, boleto and OXXO payments confirmed since they aren't instant?

These methods place the order in a pending state and are confirmed asynchronously — Pix usually within minutes, boleto and OXXO within hours to a few days. Our webhook controller validates each MercadoPago notification and reconciles the payment status to the Magento order, creating the invoice on approval or releasing/cancelling stale orders that never clear, with a cron-assisted cleanup for expired vouchers.
