The plugin unlocks the local African payment channels that global processors like Stripe and PayPal simply do not offer: card payments, direct bank transfer, USSD, mobile money and Paystack's hosted checkout — across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa, each settling in its local currency (NGN, GHS, KES, ZAR). Channels are toggled per store from a dedicated wp-admin → WooCommerce → Settings → Payments panel.
Under the hood it uses Paystack's /transaction/initialize and /transaction/verify endpoints, and a hardened webhook listener registered via the WooCommerce REST API namespace so order status stays in sync even when a buyer closes the tab mid-payment. We verify the x-paystack-signature HMAC on every callback before touching an order. The build is HPOS-aware (WooCommerce custom order tables) and stores transaction references in order meta, not the deprecated posts table.
Pro capabilities include recurring/subscription tokens (compatible with WooCommerce Subscriptions renewal hooks), split payments and subaccounts for marketplaces and commission models, and full refunds issued straight from the WooCommerce order screen.
