WhatsApp Notifications & Order Alerts is a build-to-order Magento 2 extension that moves your transactional and recovery messaging onto the channel customers in MENA, South Asia and LATAM actually open. Instead of relying on email (where deliverability and open rates collapse in WhatsApp-first markets), it fires templated WhatsApp messages the moment an order is placed, invoiced, shipped, cancelled or refunded via credit memo.
Technically, this is a real Magento module installed under app/code/Ecosire/WhatsAppNotifications. It hooks into the sales events you already emit — sales_order_place_after, sales_order_invoice_save_after, sales_order_shipment_save_after — through observers declared in events.xml, plus targeted plugins/interceptors where an observer is the wrong tool. Outbound delivery runs through a service contract (MessageSenderInterface) with two interchangeable gateway implementations bound in di.xml: Twilio's WhatsApp API and the WhatsApp Business Cloud API (Meta). Messages are queued and dispatched by cron, so a slow gateway never blocks checkout.
Per-event message bodies are editable admin templates with variables like {{customer_name}}, {{order_increment}}, {{tracking_number}} and {{store_url}}, governed by admin ACL so only authorized roles can edit them. An inbound message & contact log captures customer replies and inquiries in the admin grid. The abandoned-cart recovery sequence runs on a cron schedule against quotes with no order, sending timed WhatsApp nudges.
Because it is build-to-order, ECOSIRE configures it against your gateway account, your templates, your store views and locales — then installs, tests and supports it. It works on both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source. This is not an instant Marketplace download; it is a delivered, working integration on your install.

How long does delivery take, since this is build-to-order?
Typical delivery is one working week from kickoff. After you provide gateway access (Twilio or WhatsApp Cloud API) and your message copy, ECOSIRE builds the module, installs it on your staging environment, configures templates and the abandoned-cart sequence, runs end-to-end tests, then moves it to production. This is a custom build installed by us, not an instant Adobe Commerce Marketplace download.
Do I need a Twilio or WhatsApp Business account first?
Yes. WhatsApp messaging requires an approved WhatsApp Business sender — either through Twilio's WhatsApp API or directly via the WhatsApp Business Cloud API (Meta). You own that account and its message-template approvals. ECOSIRE configures the extension against your credentials and helps you map your approved WhatsApp templates to each Magento event.
Does it work on both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source?
Yes. The module targets standard Magento 2 APIs — sales events, service contracts, di.xml, cron and admin ACL — so it runs on Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce (on-prem or cloud) on supported 2.4.x versions. We confirm your exact version and PHP version during scoping.
What about ongoing support and updates after launch?
Every build includes two weeks of go-live support for defects and configuration changes. Beyond that, ECOSIRE offers optional support and maintenance covering Magento 2.4.x version compatibility, gateway API changes (Twilio or Meta), and small enhancements. Because you own the source under app/code, you are never locked in.
Will sending WhatsApp messages slow down checkout or admin saves?
No. Messages are written to a queue and dispatched asynchronously by cron, so the customer-facing checkout and admin order operations complete immediately. If the gateway is slow or temporarily down, messages retry with backoff and failures are visible in an admin grid for manual resend — the order flow is never blocked.
Can the message templates and abandoned-cart timing be customized per store?
Yes. Each event has its own editable template with merge variables, and bodies can differ per store view and locale for multi-language catalogs. The abandoned-cart recovery sequence timing and copy are fully configurable. All template editing is gated behind admin ACL so only authorized roles can change it.
