The Data Import/Export Power Tool is an AL extension delivered as a per-tenant (PTE) extension installed straight onto your Business Central environment — Online (SaaS) or on-premises. Will bulk import bypass Business Central's validation and corrupt my data?
No. We import through AL with table-relation and field validation enabled by default, so master-data integrity and posting rules are respected. Where you explicitly need raw speed on clean, pre-validated data, validation can be selectively relaxed per table — but that is a deliberate, documented choice, never the default.
Does it work on Business Central Online (SaaS) and on-premises?
Yes. The tool is delivered as a per-tenant extension that installs on both BC Online (SaaS) and on-premises deployments. The import/export engine, mass-update, bulk-delete, and lot/serial features work the same way on either; only the install and signing steps differ slightly by deployment type.
