Finance and sales teams running Odoo hit a wall the moment they need to decide how much credit to extend to a new customer. Out of the box, res.partner gives you a manual credit_limit field and Accounting shows you overdue balances after the fact, but there is no way to pull an external credit score, a risk band, or verified registration data at the point of onboarding or quotation. The result is credit limits set by gut feel, duplicate or mis-keyed company records, and sales orders that get confirmed for customers who were already flagged as high-risk elsewhere. Odoo native has no bridge to a third-party business-intelligence data provider, and stitching one together with ad-hoc spreadsheets or manual portal lookups does not scale past a handful of accounts.
We build a dedicated connector that wires your Odoo database directly to your credit-data provider account over its authenticated web API. The module adds a new technical model to store lookups and exposes an action on res.partner (and optionally on sale.order and crm.lead) that queries the provider by company number, name, or registration ID, then writes the returned score, risk band, recommended credit limit, and firmographic fields back onto the partner. Under the hood it is a standard Odoo module — a __manifest__.py declaring the dependency chain (base, contacts, account), Python models subclassing models.Model with @api.depends computes for a derived risk indicator, secured with ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so only your credit team sees raw report data, XML/OWL views for the partner form and a lookup wizard, and a QWeb report if you want a printable credit summary. Provider credentials are held in encrypted system parameters, all outbound calls are logged for audit, and lookups can be triggered manually, on partner creation via an automated action, or in bulk via a scheduled job.
