Audit and certification organizations run on a chain of events that generic ERP was never shaped for: an accreditation scope drives an audit programme, each audit produces findings and non-conformities, corrective actions must close before a certificate can be issued, and every certificate carries a validity window with surveillance visits and eventual recertification. In stock Odoo you can approximate pieces of this with crm, project, calendar, and documents, but the domain vocabulary is missing — there is no certification.scheme, no audit.finding with a severity and a closure deadline, no certificate state machine that suspends or withdraws on an overdue corrective action. Teams end up tracking auditor competence, impartiality declarations, certificate numbers, and surveillance due-dates in spreadsheets that live outside the ERP, which is exactly where audit trails go to die.

We build a dedicated set of Odoo models for this lifecycle. New models.Model records — for example certification.scheme, audit.programme, audit.visit, audit.finding, and certificate — carry the fields your process actually needs: scope codes, standard references, auditor assignments with competence matrices, finding severity (major/minor/observation), corrective-action deadlines, and certificate validity dates. Certificate status is a real state machine (draft → issued → surveillance → suspended/withdrawn/expired), with compute/@api.depends fields that roll up open non-conformities and derive whether a certificate is eligible to issue or must be held. Automated actions and scheduled crons watch surveillance-due and corrective-action-overdue dates and escalate — flipping a certificate to suspended, notifying the lead auditor, or opening a follow-up activity — so nothing slips silently past its deadline.

Access is governed the way an accredited body requires. ir.model.access.csv plus record rules separate auditors, technical reviewers, certification decision-makers, and clients so an auditor cannot approve their own audit and a client sees only their own certificates — supporting the impartiality separation that accreditation standards demand. Backoffice views are OWL/XML with kanban pipelines for the audit programme and readiness dashboards for certificate decisions; QWeb templates produce the audit report, non-conformity notice, and the certificate PDF itself with your numbering scheme, logo, and accreditation marks. Where you need to feed a public register, an accreditation portal, or a scheduling tool, we expose the data over Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API rather than bolting on brittle exports.
