Business Central's manufacturing module records output quantities, run/setup time, and capacity on work centers and machine centers — but it does not calculate Overall Equipment Effectiveness, capture structured downtime reason codes, or trend first-pass yield. OEE & Production Performance Analytics closes that gap.
Automated OEE calculation per machine center and work center, decomposed into availability, performance and quality factors
Event subscribers on output/consumption journal posting so OEE updates from real shop-floor actuals, not manual spreadsheets
Configurable downtime reason-code table with operator capture directly from the production journal page
Downtime Pareto analysis ranking loss causes by total minutes and frequency
Scrap, yield and first-pass-yield (FPY) tracking per routing operation and item
Real-time and historical utilization reports per resource, shift and date range
This is a build-to-order AL extension. ECOSIRE develops it against your exact manufacturing setup, installs it as a per-tenant extension on your Business Central environment (Online or on-prem), and supports it after go-live. It is not an instant AppSource download — we build it for your routings, work centers, and shift calendars.
What it does. The extension subscribes to posting events on output and consumption journals (table and page extensions on Machine Center, Work Center, and Prod. Order Routing Line) to compute OEE per machine and work center: Availability (planned run time minus captured downtime), Performance (actual vs. theoretical cycle/run time), and Quality (good output vs. total, including scrap and rework). Operators log stoppages against a configurable reason-code table directly from the production journal; the extension rolls those into a downtime Pareto so you see the few causes driving most lost time.
Results land in Business Central reports and account-schedule-style dashboards, and are exposed through a custom OData/REST API page so Power BI and Power Platform can read live OEE without manual exports. Permission sets, a Job Queue entry for nightly OEE snapshots, and telemetry are included.
Every formula is documented and reviewed with your CI team before sign-off, so the number on the dashboard is one your plant managers will actually trust and act on.
Runs the OEE program and needs a single trusted number per machine and line, with downtime Pareto charts to target kaizen events — instead of reconciling spreadsheets each week.
Wants live utilization and first-pass-yield visibility across shifts to spot bottlenecks and justify capacity or maintenance decisions from Business Central data they already own.
Needs the analytics delivered as a clean per-tenant extension with proper permission sets, Job Queue scheduling and telemetry — no unsupported core customizations and no fragile external data pipelines.

Correct — this is build-to-order. After a short scoping call to confirm your work/machine centers, routings, shift calendars and OEE definitions, typical delivery is about 2 to 4 weeks. We build and validate in a sandbox first, then install the per-tenant extension on production with you. Lead time depends on how many resources and how much downtime-reason structure you need; we confirm dates in writing before starting.
ECOSIRE supports the extension on your tenant: bug fixes, adjustments to OEE formulas or reason codes as your processes change, and compatibility updates for Business Central's twice-yearly major releases (so it keeps installing cleanly when Microsoft updates your environment). We can run a support retainer or handle changes per request — your choice. You also receive the full AL source code, so you are never locked in.
Yes. It is delivered as a per-tenant extension and works on Business Central Online and on supported on-premises versions. On Online we install it directly to your environment; on-prem we deploy the .app and coordinate with your IT team. We confirm your exact version during scoping to ensure object ranges and APIs match.
No. The extension reads your existing output, consumption and capacity data and adds its own tables and fields via extension objects and event subscribers. It does not modify base application code or overwrite standard tables, which is exactly how Microsoft expects extensions to behave — so your manufacturing posting and reporting stay intact and upgrade-safe.
Yes. We expose the OEE and downtime metrics through a custom OData/REST API page, so Power BI can pull live data on a schedule and Power Apps/Power Automate can read it without CSV exports. If you want, we deliver a starter Power BI report against that API as part of the engagement.
