The Power BI Embedded Analytics Pack puts live finance, sales, inventory and project dashboards inside your Business Central role centers — so leaders and analysts get decision-grade BI without leaving the ERP or exporting to spreadsheets.

This is a build-to-order extension, not an instant AppSource download. ECOSIRE designs the data model, builds the Power BI reports, and ships an AL per-tenant extension that embeds them into your role centers using the Power BI Reports Part and BC's native Power BI integration. We install it directly on your Business Central environment (cloud SaaS or on-prem), wire up authentication, and support it after go-live.

Under the hood, dashboards read your live BC data through the standard OData v4 / API endpoints (and published API queries where throughput matters), so figures reconcile to the underlying ledger, item ledger and job entries. We add page extensions to embed report parts on Role Center pages, permission sets to govern who sees what, and optional Dataverse / Power Platform synchronization when you need cross-app analytics. Drill-through actions jump from a Power BI visual back to the exact BC record — a posted invoice, item card or job — using BC's page-launch deep links.

You receive customizable .pbix report templates so your team can keep extending visuals after handover. Refresh runs on a schedule you choose (or near-real-time via DirectQuery against the API), governed by Power BI workspace settings and, for on-prem data, the On-premises data gateway.

Honest scope: this requires a Power BI Pro/Premium capacity (or Fabric) and a Business Central environment we can access during the build. We confirm licensing, data volumes and refresh strategy in a short scoping call before quoting the lead time below.

Is this an instant download from Microsoft AppSource?

No. This is a build-to-order extension. ECOSIRE builds the Power BI reports and an AL per-tenant extension against your real Business Central data, then installs it directly on your environment. There is no instant AppSource download — you get a solution tailored to your chart of accounts, dimensions and reporting needs.

How long until it is live on our environment?

Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff, depending on data volume, the number of customizations beyond the four standard dashboards, and your refresh/gateway setup. We confirm a firm lead time in a short scoping call before you pay, after we review your BC environment and Power BI licensing.

What do we need on our side before you start?

A Business Central environment (cloud SaaS or on-prem) we can be granted access to during the build, and Power BI Pro or Premium/Fabric capacity for the users who will view dashboards. For on-prem data we set up the On-premises data gateway. We confirm exact prerequisites in scoping so there are no surprises.

How does refresh and live data work without slowing down Business Central?

Dashboards read through standard OData v4 / BC API endpoints and published API queries, which are designed for external reads and do not lock the transactional tables. You choose scheduled refresh (e.g. hourly or nightly) or near-real-time DirectQuery. We tune the strategy to your data volume and capacity so reporting load stays off the posting path.

Do you provide ongoing support and updates after go-live?

Yes. We support the extension after delivery, including fixes, help with the handover templates, and re-validation when Microsoft ships a Business Central version update — per-tenant extensions are designed to survive upgrades, and we re-test against new releases. Ongoing support and enhancement work is offered under a maintenance arrangement agreed during scoping.
