Electrical contractors run on a rhythm that generic ERP fields never quite fit: a call comes in, a technician gets dispatched with the right van stock and certifications, work is done against a job card, materials and labor are logged on site, and then a compliant certificate and invoice have to follow — often tied to local wiring regulations and inspection sign-offs. Out of the box, Odoo gives you strong bones (project, sale, stock, hr, account, and Field Service in Enterprise), but the moment you need certificate-of-compliance templates, per-technician license and qualification tracking, van-stock reconciliation, or callback/warranty linkage back to the original job, you hit the edge of what native configuration can express. Teams end up gluing the gaps together with spreadsheets, free-text notes, and manual re-keying between the quote, the work order, and the final invoice.
We build an Odoo industry package that closes those gaps as real, first-class models rather than bolted-on notes. Concretely, we ship a custom addon (its own __manifest__.py declaring dependencies on sale_management, stock, project or Enterprise industry_fsm, and account) that extends the ORM with the objects electricians actually work in: a job/work-order model (models.Model) carrying site details, circuit and panel references, and a compute of billable vs. non-billable time via @api.depends; a technician-qualification model that gates dispatch on valid, non-expired licenses; and a certificate model that generates a signed QWeb PDF from the completed job. Views are built in XML and OWL for a clean dispatch board and a mobile-friendly job card, security is enforced through ir.model.access.csv plus record rules (so a technician sees only their own assigned jobs), and automated actions handle the repetitive steps — auto-creating the certificate draft on job completion, flagging warranty callbacks against the parent job, and pushing the confirmed materials line onto the invoice.
Because everything lives on standard Odoo objects, the package stays upgrade-safe and integrates with the rest of your system: quotes flow from sale.order, materials draw down real stock moves off each van (configured as a sub-warehouse or location), timesheets post to account.analytic.line, and the whole thing is reachable over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API if you need to feed a scheduling app, a customer portal, or a mobile tool. We target Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, and we scope Community vs. Enterprise deliberately — Field Service, mobile sign-off, and studio-style helpers exist in Enterprise, so where you are on Community we build the equivalent dispatch and job-card behavior directly in the addon rather than assuming a feature you do not license.
Delivery is build-to-order: nothing is pre-listed on apps.odoo.com and there is no instant download. We start with a short scoping call to confirm your workflow, your Odoo version and edition, your compliance-certificate format, and any integrations, then we build on a staging copy of your database, run UAT with your team, and cut over with a rollback plan. Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. Pricing starts from $349 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company operation, deeper regional certificate/compliance localization, extra integrations (accounting, payroll, scheduling apps), and larger data-migration volumes increase the quoted scope.
Runs a team of field electricians and wants dispatch, job costing, compliance certificates, and invoicing to live in one Odoo system instead of spreadsheets and paper job cards.
Assigns jobs, tracks technician qualifications and availability, and needs a real dispatch board plus van-stock visibility so crews arrive with the right parts and valid certifications.
Already runs Odoo for sales and accounting and wants an electrician-specific layer added on top without breaking upgrades, rather than migrating to a separate field-service tool.
Needs the quote, materials, labor, and certificate to reconcile cleanly into `account.move` so invoicing is accurate and job profitability is visible per work order.
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to electrician workflow | Built around your dispatch, van stock, and certificates | Fully bespoke but you specify everything | Generic field-service assumptions, rarely electrician-specific | |
| Compliance certificates | QWeb PDF configured to your format, auto-drafted on completion | Possible if you build and maintain it | Usually absent or a fixed generic template | |
| Technician qualification gating | License/skill model that blocks invalid dispatch | Buildable at your cost | Rarely offered | |
| Odoo version coverage | Built and tested for 17.0 / 18.0 / 19.0 | Depends on your developer | Often lags new Odoo releases | |
| Upgrade safety | Standard models, clean addon, git-handed-over | Varies with build quality | Varies; may break on upgrade | |
| Delivery model | Build-to-order, 2–4 weeks, UAT + rollback plan | Long lead time, you manage the project | Instant download but no fit or support | |
| Support & ownership | Post-go-live window plus full git repo handover | Depends on the developer's availability | Marketplace ticket support, no source ownership | |
| Total cost predictability | Indicative from $349, fixed quote after scoping | Open-ended developer hours | Low license fee, hidden fit/customization cost |
No. This is a build-to-order package. There is no apps.odoo.com download — ECOSIRE scopes, builds, installs, and supports it around your specific electrical-service workflow, Odoo version, and compliance-certificate format.
Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. The timeline starts once we have finalized your workflow, Odoo version and edition, certificate format, and any integrations on a scoping call. Larger multi-company or data-migration work extends this, and we tell you the timeline in your fixed quote.
Pricing starts from $349 as an indicative single-company base-scope figure. After a short scoping call we send a fixed written quote. Drivers like multi-company operation, deeper regional compliance localization, extra integrations, and data-migration volume increase the quoted scope — you approve the fixed price before we build.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for fixes and adjustments. We target Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, and because the package is built on standard Odoo models it stays upgrade-safe. Version upgrades or new feature work beyond the support window are quoted separately, and you receive the full git repository so you are never locked in.
Both. We scope Community vs. Enterprise deliberately. Enterprise features like Field Service and mobile sign-off are used where you license them; on Community we build the equivalent dispatch board, job card, and mobile-friendly behavior directly in the addon rather than assuming a feature you do not have.
Yes. The certificate-of-compliance is generated as a QWeb PDF report configured to your required format and branding, auto-drafted on job completion. Deeper region-specific compliance rules and localized templates are part of scoping and factor into the fixed quote.
Yes. It builds on standard objects — `sale.order`, `stock`, `account`, timesheets — so it reuses your existing customers, products, and accounting. External scheduling apps, portals, or field tools connect over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API, which we scope and wire during the build.
