Running a hardware store on generic Odoo means constant friction: fasteners and fixings sold both by the box and by the each, inventory scattered across aisle bins with no reliable location tracking, walk-in cash customers mixed with contractor trade accounts on 30-day terms, and reorder points that nobody has time to set on 4,000+ SKUs. Odoo Community out of the box gives you the primitives — product.template, stock.location, pos.order, sale.order — but leaves the industry logic to you. The catalog structure, the POS-to-warehouse flow, the price tiers, and the reorder discipline that a hardware business actually runs on are exactly what native Odoo does not ship configured, and where a typical off-the-shelf apps.odoo.com module stops at a thin feature rather than an operating setup.
This is a build-to-order configuration package: ECOSIRE assembles and installs a coherent hardware-store setup on top of Odoo Inventory, POS, Sales, and Purchase, tailored to your product mix and locations. Technically, we ship a proper Odoo module with its own __manifest__.py declaring dependencies on stock, point_of_sale, sale_management, and purchase. It seeds your product categories (product.category) and units of measure (uom.uom / uom.category) so a Box of 100 converts cleanly to an Each at the counter; configures multi-bin warehouse structure with stock.location and putaway rules; sets automated reorder points (stock.warehouse.orderpoint) so replenishment proposes purchase orders before shelves go empty; and separates walk-in POS sales from contractor trade accounts using customer pricelist tiers and payment terms. Where your workflow needs logic Odoo can't express through configuration alone, we add it in models/ with models.Model extensions, @api.depends computed fields (for example margin or landed-cost roll-ups), and ir.actions.server automated actions — all access-controlled through ir.model.access.csv and record rules so counter staff, buyers, and managers see only what they should.
The setup includes the operational surfaces staff use daily: adjusted POS receipt and quotation QWeb reports carrying your branding and trade terms, list/kanban/form views (XML, with OWL components only where a richer counter interaction earns it) tuned for fast SKU lookup and stock visibility, and dashboards for slow-movers and margin. If you integrate with a scale, a supplier price feed, an e-commerce front, or an external accounting system, we wire it through Odoo's XML-RPC / JSON-RPC API rather than brittle exports. The package targets Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, and we build against your edition — Community or Enterprise — using Enterprise-only surfaces (like advanced barcode or accounting) only when your license already includes them, and providing Community-compatible equivalents when it does not.
Delivery is build-to-order and follows a fixed path: a scoping call to confirm your product mix, locations, price tiers, and edition; a written scope and fixed quote; a build on a staging database; UAT with your team; then production install with a rollback plan and a post-go-live support window. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope. You receive the installable source, a git repository handover, technical documentation, and a user guide plus a training session. Pricing starts from $349 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company or multi-branch rollout, deeper localization, supplier/e-commerce/scale integrations, and larger catalog or historical-data migration increase the quoted scope.
Runs a single-branch store on spreadsheets or a legacy till and wants counter sales, stock, and purchasing in one Odoo system without hiring a developer. Needs the setup built, installed, and explained rather than a toolkit to assemble.
Oversees several outlets and a central warehouse, and needs consistent bin locations, reorder discipline, and price tiers replicated across companies. Buys the build-to-order package to standardize the hardware workflow before rolling it out branch by branch.
Already runs Odoo but lacks the industry-specific catalog, UoM, and POS-to-warehouse configuration for hardware retail. Wants a clean, documented module with a git handover they can maintain and extend after go-live.
Sells mostly to contractors on account with tiered pricing and 30-day terms alongside walk-in cash sales. Needs the trade-account, pricelist, and payment-term logic wired correctly so credit customers and counter sales stay cleanly separated.
| Critère | ÉCOSIRE | Construction personnalisée | Concurrent | Odoo natif |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fit to hardware-store workflow | Built to your catalog, bins, and trade tiers | Whatever you spec and can build in-house | Generic features, rarely a full setup | |
| Dual-unit selling (box/each) | UoM categories seeded and tested at counter | Possible but you design the UoM tree | Often partial or unaddressed | |
| Reorder discipline on many SKUs | Orderpoints and rules configured across catalog | Your team sets and maintains the rules | Basic reorder, not tuned to your mix | |
| Trade accounts vs walk-in POS | Pricelist tiers and terms wired and separated | You build the pricing and terms logic | Limited tier handling | |
| Delivery model | Build-to-order, 2-4 weeks from scope | Depends on internal capacity and backlog | Instant download, self-configure | |
| Support and ownership | Support window plus git repo handover | You own and maintain it entirely | Vendor support varies; upgrades your risk | |
| Version and edition coverage | Odoo 17/18/19, Community or Enterprise | Whatever you target and test | Specific versions, edition caveats | |
| Total effort for you | Scoping call plus UAT; we do the build | Full design, build, test, and maintenance | Install plus significant self-configuration |
No. It is a build-to-order configuration package. ECOSIRE scopes your product mix, locations, and price tiers, then builds, installs, and supports the setup on your Odoo. There is no instant download — you receive a module tailored to your business.
Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope. After the scoping call we send a written scope and fixed quote; once you approve, we build on staging, run UAT with your team, then install to production with a rollback plan. Larger catalogs, multi-branch rollouts, or data migration can extend the timeline, and we state that in the quote.
Pricing starts from $349 as an indicative from-price for a single-company base scope. It is not a fixed final price — after a short scoping call we issue a fixed written quote for your exact requirements. Drivers like multi-company rollout, integrations, localization depth, and data-migration volume increase the quoted scope.
We build for Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, on either Community or Enterprise. We use Enterprise-only features only when your license already includes them, and provide Community-compatible equivalents otherwise. We confirm your version and edition during scoping.
Every engagement includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration questions. Because you receive the full source and a git repository handover, you or your own team can maintain it, and we offer ongoing support or version-upgrade engagements separately as your needs grow.
Yes, within scope. We integrate through Odoo's XML-RPC / JSON-RPC API and standard connectors rather than brittle manual exports. Each integration is confirmed and priced during scoping, since it affects build effort and the final quote.
Yes. You receive the installable source and a git repository handover with full history. The module is documented so your team or any Odoo partner can extend it. You are never locked to ECOSIRE to make future changes.
