Shelf-edge prices drift from system prices the moment a price list changes, a promotion starts, or a clearance markdown is approved. The result is checkout disputes, lost margin, and staff walking the aisles with a clipboard. Electronic Shelf Label & Price Tag Manager closes that gap by making Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central the single source of truth for every shelf-edge price.

This is a per-tenant AL extension that ECOSIRE builds, installs, and supports directly on your Business Central environment (cloud or on-premises). It is not an instant AppSource download — we scope it to your ESL hardware, store layout, and pricing model, then deploy it as a signed extension package into your tenant.

Under the hood it uses table and page extensions on Item, Item Reference, Sales Price / Price List Line, and a new ESL Label Setup table. Event subscribers on price and promotion posting routines detect changes and enqueue label updates, while a Job Queue entry batches and schedules pushes during off-peak windows. Outbound sync to your shelf-label gateway (for example Pricer, SES-imagotag/VusionGroup, or a vendor REST endpoint) runs through the BC REST/OData v4 API and configurable HTTP connections, with full retry and error logging.

For barcode tags and shelf-talkers, the extension ships report objects and label templates rendered from live item data — printed in bulk for a price-change wave or on demand for a single SKU. Promo and clearance labels are generated automatically from your campaign and markdown records. Dedicated permission sets keep operators scoped, and optional Dataverse / Power Platform integration lets store staff trigger reprints from a Power App. Everything is documented and handed over so your team owns the workflow.

How long does delivery take, since this is build-to-order?

Typical lead time is two to four weeks from kickoff, depending on your ESL gateway and how many label templates and store mappings are involved. After a short scoping call we confirm your Business Central version, hardware, and pricing model, then build, test on a sandbox tenant, and install the signed extension into production. This is a custom build installed by ECOSIRE — there is no instant AppSource download.

What does ongoing support and updates look like after install?

Every build includes a post-deployment support window covering bug fixes and a compatibility check against Business Central's next major update. Because it is installed as a per-tenant extension, we can patch and redeploy without disrupting your other apps. After the initial window we offer an optional support and maintenance plan for new ESL device types, additional label templates, store rollouts, and version upgrades. You also receive the full source so your own team or partner can maintain it.

Which electronic shelf label systems do you support?

We integrate with ESL platforms that expose a REST or HTTP API — for example Pricer and SES-imagotag/VusionGroup — as well as vendor-specific gateways. During scoping we confirm your system's API and authentication so the extension's gateway profile and HTTP connection are built for it. If your hardware has no open API, we tell you up front and focus on the barcode tag and shelf-talker printing side.

Does it work with multi-store and multiple price lists?

Yes. The ESL Label Setup table maps items and shelf/bin locations to label devices per store, and the sync engine respects Business Central price list hierarchy, customer/location-specific prices, and unit-of-measure pricing. Each store can have its own Job Queue schedule so price-change waves push during that location's off-peak window.

Will it slow down Business Central when we run a large repricing?

No. Change detection via event subscribers is lightweight, and the actual outbound sync runs through a Job Queue entry in batches rather than synchronously in the user session. A thousand-SKU markdown enqueues instantly and pushes in the background, with a status and audit page showing progress and any failed devices to retry.
