PayU India Gateway for Shopify is a build-to-order payment integration that connects your Shopify checkout to PayU's mature Indian gateway — the right fit when you sell higher-ticket products and need real EMI and credit flexibility to close the sale.
This is not an instant App Store install. ECOSIRE builds, configures, and installs the integration for your specific store, then supports it. We wire PayU into your store using Shopify's supported extension points — a custom payments app authenticated via OAuth, server-side order and transaction webhooks (orders/create, orders/paid, refunds/create), and order metafields to persist PayU transaction IDs, payment mode (UPI / card / netbanking / wallet / EMI), and EMI tenure against each order for clean reconciliation.
Buyers in India increasingly abandon high-value carts without financing. We surface no-cost and standard EMI options at the decision point, route customers through PayU's hosted, 3DS-authenticated flow, and return them to Shopify with verified, signed payment status — never trusting a client-side redirect alone. Is this an instant download from the Shopify App Store?
No. This is a build-to-order integration. After purchase, ECOSIRE configures, builds and installs the PayU India gateway for your specific store, then supports it. There is no one-click App Store install — you get a custom implementation and a real engineer who knows your setup.
How long does delivery take?
Typical delivery is 2 to 3 weeks from kickoff, depending on how quickly your PayU merchant account and credentials are ready and how many checkout methods and EMI rules you need. We confirm a firm timeline during discovery before any build work starts.
What do you do for ongoing support and updates?
Your purchase includes a post-launch support window with the engineer who built the integration, covering bug fixes and configuration changes (for example adjusting EMI thresholds or adding a payment method). Do I need my own PayU merchant account?
Yes. PayU settles in INR directly to your own PayU merchant account, so you must hold (or open) one. As part of the build we guide you through onboarding and the API key/credential setup, but the merchant relationship and settlements remain entirely yours.
How are EMI and no-cost EMI handled at checkout?
EMI options are surfaced through PayU's flow at the payment step, and we can gate them by a cart-value threshold you choose so financing only appears on high-ticket orders. Both no-cost and standard EMI are supported, and the selected tenure is captured in an order metafield for reconciliation. No-cost EMI subvention terms are set in your PayU dashboard.
How do refunds and reconciliation work across PayU and Shopify?
We verify PayU webhooks server-side and sync refunds — including partial refunds — through the Shopify Admin GraphQL API, so order and financial status stay consistent in both systems. Every order carries its PayU transaction ID and payment mode in metafields, making month-end settlement matching straightforward.
