The Manufacturing AI Copilot & Insights Agent is a build-to-order Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central extension that puts a natural-language assistant on top of your production data. Instead of hopping between the Released Production Orders list, Item Availability by BOM Level, and the Requisition Worksheet, a plant manager simply asks: "Which orders are at risk this week?" or "Why is order PO-10421 late?" — and gets a grounded, data-backed answer.
This is not an instant AppSource download. ECOSIRE builds the extension in AL, tailors it to your routings, work centers, BOM structure, and shop-floor data, then installs it as a per-tenant extension directly on your Business Central environment (cloud SaaS or on-prem). We configure it, hand over the permission sets, and support it.
Under the hood, the Copilot is implemented with table and page extensions plus event subscribers that read live production data through Business Central's own object model and the REST/OData v4 API. Natural-language questions are routed through a governed prompt layer (built on the Copilot/Azure OpenAI pattern Microsoft supports for BC) that maps intent to safe, read-only AL queries — never free-form SQL against your tenant. A Job Queue entry runs the nightly at-risk scan and assembles the auto-summarized daily shop-floor status. Optional Power Platform / Dataverse integration lets the same insights surface in Power BI or a Teams channel.
Everything respects Business Central permissions: the agent only sees what the calling user's permission set allows. Recommendations (reschedule, replenish, expedite) are surfaced as suggested actions a planner reviews and confirms — the human stays in control. You get AI-assisted visibility without ripping out or replacing the manufacturing module you already run.

How long does delivery take, and how is it installed?
This is a build-to-order extension, not an instant AppSource download. After a short scoping call we typically deliver in about 2 to 4 weeks depending on the complexity of your routings, BOMs, and any Power Platform integration. We build it in AL, install it first on your Business Central sandbox for validation, then deploy it to production as a per-tenant extension. ECOSIRE handles the entire install.
Do you provide ongoing support and updates after go-live?
Yes. Every build includes a warranty window after go-live, and we offer ongoing support and maintenance plans. Because it is a per-tenant AL extension, we keep it compatible across Business Central's twice-yearly platform updates, adjust thresholds and prompts as your operation changes, and can extend it with new questions or recommendations on request.
Does the AI write to my data or make changes automatically?
No. The agent is read-only against your production data. All recommendations — reschedule, replenish, expedite — are surfaced as suggestions that a planner reviews and confirms inside Business Central. The human always stays in control of any actual change.
Will it work with my existing manufacturing setup and permissions?
Yes. It is built on top of your existing Manufacturing module using table extensions, page extensions, and event subscribers, so nothing in your base configuration is replaced. It fully respects Business Central permission sets — the agent only sees what the signed-in user is authorized to see.
Where does the AI processing happen and is my data safe?
Natural-language requests are processed through a governed Azure OpenAI / Copilot prompt layer following Microsoft's supported BC pattern, with grounding on your data and guardrails against fabricated numbers. The agent queries your tenant only through safe, read-only AL queries and the BC REST/OData API — it never runs free-form SQL.
