Business Central's core manufacturing is built for discrete assembly: rigid Production BOMs with fixed component quantities and one finished item per order. Process manufacturers don't work that way. You make product by formula, scale a recipe to a target batch, and one run yields a main product plus co-products and by-products at variable, catch-weight quantities. Forcing that into standard BOMs means spreadsheets, manual back-flush corrections and inventory that never reconciles.
Recipe/formula cards replacing rigid Production BOM quantities with ratio- and percentage-based ingredient lines that always sum to 100%
Batch sizing engine that scales an entire recipe to a target output quantity, recalculating every ingredient line proportionally
Co-product and by-product output lines that post to inventory in the same production run as the main product
Catch-weight and variable-yield support reconciling actual posted output against theoretical yield with configurable tolerance
Potency/concentration-based ingredient calculation (active-ingredient assay, dilution-to-target, on-hand strength adjustment)
Table and page extensions over Item, Production BOM and Production Order — no parallel data model, no separate app to reconcile
This is a build-to-order extension that ECOSIRE designs, builds in AL, and installs as a per-tenant extension directly on your Business Central environment (cloud SaaS or on-prem) — it is not an instant AppSource download. We implement it with proper table and page extensions over Production BOM, Item, and Production Order; event subscribers on order release, refresh and consumption posting; and dedicated permission sets so your operators see only what they should.
What you get: recipe/formula cards that replace rigid BOM quantities with ratio- and percentage-based ingredient lines; batch sizing that scales the whole recipe to a target output quantity; co-product and by-product output lines that post to inventory in the same run; catch-weight and variable-yield reconciliation against theoretical yield; and potency/concentration-based ingredient math (active-ingredient assay, dilution-to-target). Recipes are exposed over the BC REST/OData v4 API for integration with lab, LIMS or Power Platform flows, and recurring recalculation runs via the job queue.
Because it's built on standard BC extension points, it survives Microsoft's monthly and major updates, ships through your existing environment, and stays under ECOSIRE support. We scope to your formulas first, so the rounding rules, UoM conversions and yield tolerances match how your plant actually runs.
Runs a plant where product is made by formula, not assembly — food, beverage, chemical or cosmetics. Needs to scale recipes to batch size and stop reconciling yield in spreadsheets.
Owns formula accuracy, potency/assay control and traceability. Needs versioned, certified recipes and active-ingredient math that holds up to audit, not free-text notes on a BOM.
Maintains the BC tenant and worries about update survival and data integrity. Wants a clean per-tenant extension on standard extension points, not unsupported customizations that break each release.
Buy the license on ecosire.com and download the Process Manufacturing: Formula & Recipe Management module ZIP from your account dashboard.
Extract the ZIP into your Odoo custom addons folder on the server (or upload via Apps > Install from file on Odoo.sh / runbot).
Activate Developer Mode, open Apps, click Update Apps List, search for Process Manufacturing: Formula & Recipe Management, and press Install.
Open the new menu, paste your ECOSIRE license key, connect any external credentials (Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, etc.), and save.
Run the built-in connection test, sync your first 10 records, and schedule the recurring cron. Contact support if anything fails.

This is build-to-order, not an instant download. After a scoping call to capture your formulas, UoM conversions and yield tolerances, a typical build runs about 3 to 6 weeks depending on complexity (potency math, co-product accounting and LIMS integration add time). We deliver it as a per-tenant AL extension installed on your Business Central environment — cloud SaaS via your admin center or on-prem — with a deployment runbook. You get the source code and a Git repo, so you're never locked in.
Yes. It's built entirely on supported AL extension points — table/page extensions and event subscribers — so it rides through monthly and major BC updates rather than breaking on them. ECOSIRE provides a post-go-live support window included in the build, then an optional ongoing support/maintenance plan covering compatibility checks against new BC versions, bug fixes and small enhancements. Because you hold the source, another partner could also maintain it if you ever choose to.
Standard BOMs hold fixed component quantities and produce one finished item. They have no native concept of scaling a whole recipe to a target batch, no co-product/by-product outputs in a single run, no catch-weight reconciliation, and no potency-based ingredient math. This extension adds all of that on top of the standard tables, so you keep BC's costing and posting while gaining real process-manufacturing behaviour.
Yes. Recipes and batch calculations are exposed over the Business Central REST/OData v4 API, so a LIMS, lab system, Power Automate flow or Dataverse-backed Power App can read formulas and push assay results back. We document the endpoints as part of delivery and can build a specific integration as additional scope.
Yes. It applies UoM conversions per ingredient (e.g. stocked in kg, consumed in litres) and supports potency/concentration math — calculating required quantity from the on-hand active-ingredient strength to hit a target assay, including dilution-to-target. Rounding rules and tolerances are configured to match your plant during the build.
