If you already run Stripe on WooCommerce, you are halfway to compliant tax — but WooCommerce core tax tables are manual, static, and blind to economic nexus. The Stripe Tax Connector for WooCommerce closes that gap by letting Stripe Tax do the calculation in real time, while your store keeps WooCommerce as the source of truth for orders.
This is a build-to-order plugin: ECOSIRE builds it, installs it on your WordPress site, configures it against your live Stripe account, and supports it. It is not an instant WooCommerce.com or WordPress.org download. We tailor the integration to your store's product mix, tax registrations, and theme.
How it works. On the WooCommerce checkout, the plugin hooks into woocommerce_calculate_totals and the cart fees pipeline to call the Stripe Tax API with the customer's address, your origin/registration data, and each line item's tax code. The returned tax is applied per line, stored on the order (fully HPOS / custom-order-table compatible), and reconciled against the Stripe PaymentIntent so the amount charged matches the amount calculated.
What it handles. US destination-based sales tax, EU/UK/global VAT, GST for AU/NZ/CA/IN/SG, reverse-charge for valid B2B VAT IDs, and product tax-code mapping so digital goods, SaaS, and physical products each get the correct Stripe tax code via a wp-admin mapping screen. A WP-Cron job polls Stripe Tax thresholds and emails you when you near economic-nexus registration limits in a new state or country.
Built to ECOSIRE engineering standards: parameterized queries, capability-checked admin screens, WPML and WooCommerce-multisite aware, and clean uninstall.

How long until the plugin is live on my store?

What happens at checkout if Stripe Tax is temporarily unreachable?
Checkout never hard-fails on a tax call. If the Stripe Tax API times out or errors, the plugin falls back to your existing WooCommerce tax tables so the order can still complete, logs the event, and flags it for review. Once Stripe is reachable again, calculation resumes automatically on the next request.
Is the tax data accurate enough to file with?
Tax amounts come straight from Stripe Tax, which maintains the rate and rule data, so calculation accuracy matches Stripe's own service. The plugin stores a per-order tax breakdown as order meta and exposes it through the WooCommerce REST API so you can reconcile it against Stripe's tax reports for filing. ECOSIRE builds the integration; we are not your tax advisor and recommend your accountant confirms your registrations.
