Most procurement teams still judge vendors on gut feel, scattered spreadsheets, and the loudest complaint of the week. Odoo gives you purchase orders, receipts, bills, and vendor pricelists, but out of the box it has no concept of a vendor score: there is no place to record how a supplier performed on quality, on-time delivery, price competitiveness, responsiveness, or compliance, and no way to roll those judgments into a defensible rating you can present at a supplier review. When a critical part arrives late or fails inspection, that signal lives in someone's inbox, not on res.partner. Sourcing decisions and re-order approvals then happen with no objective history behind them.
We build a Vendor Evaluation module that turns supplier performance into structured, auditable data inside Odoo. A new vendor.evaluation model captures each assessment against a configurable set of weighted criteria (vendor.evaluation.criteria), with a score stored per evaluation line and an @api.depends compute rolling them into a normalized overall rating that surfaces on res.partner. Criteria, weightings, and rating bands are data you control, not hard-coded logic, so quality, delivery, price, and service each carry the weight your procurement policy demands. Evaluations link back to the source purchase.order and stock.picking, so an assessment is always traceable to the transaction that triggered it, and an automated action (base.automation) can auto-open a draft evaluation when a receipt is validated or a bill is posted.
Technically, the module ships as a proper Odoo addon: a __manifest__.py declaring dependencies on purchase and stock, ORM models with the compute/inverse/@api.constrains logic that enforces score bounds and weighting totals, form/list/kanban/search views in XML (with an optional OWL score widget), and a QWeb PDF scorecard for individual vendors plus a comparison report across a shortlist. Access is locked down with ir.model.access.csv and record rules so buyers can evaluate but only procurement managers can change the criteria master or reopen a confirmed rating. Objective metrics — on-time delivery percentage, receipt rejection rate, price variance versus the pricelist — can be computed automatically from existing Odoo data and blended with the subjective scores your team enters, and everything is exposed over the standard XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so an external portal or BI tool can read ratings without a custom endpoint. It targets Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 on both Community and Enterprise; where a capability depends on Enterprise (for example richer dashboard studio widgets), we build a Community-safe equivalent so the core evaluation workflow never depends on your edition.
Because this is build-to-order, nothing is downloaded and switched on blindly. We start with a short scoping call to capture your criteria, weightings, rating scale, approval flow, and which metrics should auto-compute versus be entered by hand, then we build your version, prove it on a staging database against your real purchase history, run UAT with your buyers, and deploy with a rollback plan. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company evaluation with per-company weighting, deeper integrations (inbound quality-inspection systems, external supplier portals, BI), and large historical-data migration for backfilled scores increase the quoted scope.
Owns the supplier base and needs an objective, auditable rating to defend sourcing decisions at review meetings. Wants weighted criteria, PDF scorecards, and a rating that lives on the vendor record rather than in a personal spreadsheet.
Cares about on-time delivery and quality risk across the whole vendor pool. Needs auto-computed delivery and rejection metrics, trend views, and a low-rating guardrail that flags risky suppliers before a PO is confirmed.
Tracks defects, returns, and supplier compliance. Wants inspection outcomes and rejection rates feeding directly into the score, with traceability back to the specific receipt or purchase order.
Runs the Odoo instance and must keep customizations clean and upgrade-safe. Wants a proper addon with `ir.model.access.csv`, record rules, sane compute logic, and a git handover, not a fragile Studio patch.
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vendor scoring model | Dedicated model with weighted, configurable criteria and a stored rating on the vendor | Whatever you spec and can afford to build in-house | Fixed scoring scheme, often hard to reweight | |
| Auto-computed metrics | On-time %, rejection rate, and price variance pulled from your Odoo data | Possible but adds significant build time | Usually manual entry only | |
| Fit to your policy | Criteria, weights, and bands built around your review process | Fully bespoke, at full bespoke cost | You adapt to the module's assumptions | |
| Reporting | QWeb PDF scorecard plus multi-vendor comparison report | Build each report from scratch | Basic list or one fixed report | |
| Security and approval flow | Buyer/manager roles via record rules and a draft-to-approved state machine | Depends on developer discipline | Often a single flat access level | |
| Odoo version and edition support | Built for 17/18/19, Community-safe with Enterprise-aware options | Whatever you target and maintain | Version support varies; upgrades lag | |
| Delivery and ownership | Built to order in 2-4 weeks with git repo and docs handover | Long internal lead time; you own maintenance | Instant download but generic, no handover of your build | |
| Support | Post-go-live window plus optional upgrade retainer from ECOSIRE | Your own team or contractor | Community/forum or paid ticket, generic |
Because this is built to order, typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope. Straightforward single-company builds land toward the shorter end; multi-company setups, deep integrations, or historical-score migration extend it. We agree a firm timeline in writing after the scoping call.
No. This is a productized service, not an off-the-shelf apps.odoo.com download. ECOSIRE designs, builds, installs, and supports your version around your evaluation policy. Nothing is instantly downloadable; you receive a purpose-built module and full handover.
Pricing starts from $249 as an indicative single-company base scope. After a short scoping call we send a fixed quotation for your exact requirements. Drivers such as multi-company weighting, extra integrations, and large historical-data migration increase the quoted scope, and the from-price is not a firm fixed price.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration tweaks. Beyond that we offer ongoing support and version-upgrade retainers, including migrating your module across Odoo 17/18/19 as you upgrade. You also receive the git repository so any Odoo partner can maintain it.
We build for Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 on both Community and Enterprise. Where a feature would depend on an Enterprise-only capability, we build a Community-safe equivalent so the core evaluation workflow never requires a specific edition. We confirm your exact version at scoping.
Yes. We compute objective metrics such as on-time delivery percentage, receipt rejection rate, and price variance directly from your existing purchase and inventory data, then blend them with any subjective scores your buyers enter. The mix and weighting are configured to your policy.
It ships as a standard addon with a clean `__manifest__.py`, proper ORM models, and dependency declarations on `purchase` and `stock`, rather than a brittle Studio customization. That keeps it upgrade-friendly, and we hand over the git repo plus documentation so future upgrades are straightforward.
