Most procurement teams still judge vendors on gut feel, scattered spreadsheets, and the loudest complaint of the week. Odoo gives you purchase orders, receipts, bills, and vendor pricelists, but out of the box it has no concept of a vendor score: there is no place to record how a supplier performed on quality, on-time delivery, price competitiveness, responsiveness, or compliance, and no way to roll those judgments into a defensible rating you can present at a supplier review. When a critical part arrives late or fails inspection, that signal lives in someone's inbox, not on res.partner. Sourcing decisions and re-order approvals then happen with no objective history behind them.

We build a Vendor Evaluation module that turns supplier performance into structured, auditable data inside Odoo. A new vendor.evaluation model captures each assessment against a configurable set of weighted criteria (vendor.evaluation.criteria), with a score stored per evaluation line and an @api.depends compute rolling them into a normalized overall rating that surfaces on res.partner. Criteria, weightings, and rating bands are data you control, not hard-coded logic, so quality, delivery, price, and service each carry the weight your procurement policy demands. Evaluations link back to the source purchase.order and stock.picking, so an assessment is always traceable to the transaction that triggered it, and an automated action (base.automation) can auto-open a draft evaluation when a receipt is validated or a bill is posted.

Technically, the module ships as a proper Odoo addon: a __manifest__.py declaring dependencies on purchase and stock, ORM models with the compute/inverse/@api.constrains logic that enforces score bounds and weighting totals, form/list/kanban/search views in XML (with an optional OWL score widget), and a QWeb PDF scorecard for individual vendors plus a comparison report across a shortlist. Access is locked down with ir.model.access.csv and record rules so buyers can evaluate but only procurement managers can change the criteria master or reopen a confirmed rating. Objective metrics — on-time delivery percentage, receipt rejection rate, price variance versus the pricelist — can be computed automatically from existing Odoo data and blended with the subjective scores your team enters, and everything is exposed over the standard XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so an external portal or BI tool can read ratings without a custom endpoint. It targets Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 on both Community and Enterprise; where a capability depends on Enterprise (for example richer dashboard studio widgets), we build a Community-safe equivalent so the core evaluation workflow never depends on your edition.

Because this is build-to-order, nothing is downloaded and switched on blindly.
