PayPal Complete Payments (PPCP) for Magento 2 consolidates your entire PayPal payment stack into a single, properly engineered Magento 2 payment module — instead of juggling the legacy core Magento_Paypal Express flow alongside separate card and wallet integrations. This is a build-to-order engagement: ECOSIRE builds the extension against your exact Magento version, theme and checkout, installs it on your environment, and supports it afterward. It is not an instant Adobe Commerce Marketplace download.
The module ships as a standard composer package under app/code/Ecosire/PaypalCompletePayments, registering a gateway through Magento's Payment Gateway command pool (CommandPoolInterface, authorize/capture/void/refund commands wired in di.xml). Smart payment buttons render on cart, PDP and checkout via a UI component and Magento_Checkout layout XML, so PayPal, Venmo and Pay Later appear exactly where they convert. Fastlane drives one-click accelerated guest checkout for returning shoppers, while card fields process and vault through PPCP using Magento's Vault module and stored payment tokens. Apple Pay and Google Pay are enabled with domain registration and the required button placements.
Server-side, webhooks land on a dedicated controller with signature verification, reconcile order state through OrderRepositoryInterface and service contracts, and write to the payment transaction grid. Yes. PPCP, Fastlane, Pay Later and PPCP card processing all run through your own PayPal Complete Payments merchant account, and availability of features like Venmo, Pay Later and Fastlane depends on your country and PayPal eligibility. We wire your live and sandbox credentials into the module's admin configuration, but the underlying account, onboarding and feature eligibility are between you and PayPal.
Will this work on Adobe Commerce as well as Magento Open Source?
Yes. The module is built on standard Magento 2 framework APIs — the Payment Gateway command pool, Vault, service contracts and admin ACL — so it runs on both Adobe Commerce (Enterprise/Cloud) and Magento Open Source 2.4.x. On Adobe Commerce Cloud we adapt the deployment to the read-only filesystem and ece-tools build/deploy process. We target your specific edition and version during the build.
Does it replace the legacy core PayPal (Magento_Paypal) integration?
It is designed to supersede the legacy Magento_Paypal Express Checkout flow for PPCP merchants by giving you a single modern gateway for buttons, Fastlane, cards and wallets. We disable or coexist with the relevant core PayPal payment methods so you do not get duplicate options at checkout, and we confirm the cutover plan with you so existing orders, vaulted tokens and reporting stay consistent.
Can payments be vaulted and refunded from the Magento admin like native orders?
Yes. Card payments are tokenized through Magento's Vault module so returning customers and admin-created orders can reuse stored tokens, subject to PPCP rules. Captures, invoices, refunds and partial refunds are driven from the standard Magento order, invoice and credit memo screens — each action maps to the corresponding PPCP capture/void/refund command, and webhook events keep order state reconciled.
