Qu'est-ce que Salesforce CRM Connector ?

A bi-directional Salesforce integration for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations covering accounts, quotes, orders and invoice status. Built to order by ECOSIRE after a scoping call and fixed quote. Built to order by ECOSIRE for Dynamics 365 F&O (build-to-order) — indicative price from $1499.00 USD; request a quote for a scoped proposal.

Salesforce CRM Connector — A bi-directional Salesforce integration for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations covering accounts, quotes, orders and invoice status

What we build

  • Custom data entities on the data management framework for account, contact and address synchronisation against CustTable, DirPartyTable and LogisticsPostalAddress
  • Configurable cross-legal-entity mapping so one Salesforce account resolves to the correct customer account per company
  • Salesforce quote ingestion creating sales quotations or sales orders in SalesTable and SalesLine with configurable header and line defaults
  • Optional price and discount recalculation in F&O against trade agreements instead of accepting CRM pricing blindly
  • Pre-creation validation of credit limit, customer hold status and item availability with a readable rejection reason returned to Salesforce
  • Sales order confirmation, packing slip and sales invoice events published back to Salesforce with document references
  • Open balance and invoice payment status surfaced on the Salesforce account so sales sees collections reality
  • OData and custom service endpoints for outbound and inbound traffic, with authentication handled through registered Azure AD applications
  • Recurring processing under the F&O batch framework with a dedicated batch group so integration load is isolated from MRP and close
  • Full message log with correlation identifiers, payload snapshots, retry counts and configurable retention
  • Error workspace with filtering and a functional re-submit action, so failed messages do not require developer intervention
  • Number sequence and document reference handling that keeps F&O document numbers authoritative and echoes them to the CRM record

À propos de ce produit

The problem

Your sales organisation lives in Salesforce and your finance and supply chain organisation lives in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Between them sits a manual seam. A closed-won opportunity becomes a spreadsheet handed to order entry. A customer master record is created twice, with two different tax registration numbers and two different payment terms. Collections calls the customer about an invoice the account executive has never seen, because invoice status never travels back out of F&O.

The cost is not only re-keying. It is the credit hold nobody in sales knew about, the quote priced against a stale trade agreement, the order confirmed on stock that was already allocated elsewhere, and the month-end reconciliation where the CRM pipeline and the ledger disagree about what actually shipped.

Standard F&O gives you Dual-write and the Common Data Service path when the CRM is Dynamics 365 Sales. It gives you no first-class path to Salesforce. Point-to-point scripts written by whoever was available get you a demo, then fail silently the first time a batch job stalls or an API limit is hit at quarter end.

What ECOSIRE builds

We build a purpose-designed integration layer as X++ extensions inside your F&O environment, with no overlayering. Everything is extension-model code deployed through your own LCS pipeline, so it survives Microsoft's service updates rather than blocking them.

Master data alignment

Accounts and contacts are synchronised against CustTable, DirPartyTable and LogisticsPostalAddress through custom data entities built on the data management framework. Mapping is configuration, not code: you decide which Salesforce record types become which customer groups, which price groups, and which legal entities. Cross-company scenarios are handled explicitly — a single Salesforce account can resolve to distinct customer accounts in each legal entity, with the mapping stored and auditable rather than inferred at runtime.

Quote to order

Salesforce quotes and their line items are received and materialised as sales quotations or directly as sales orders (SalesTable and SalesLine), depending on the flow you choose during scoping. Pricing can be echoed from Salesforce or recalculated in F&O against your trade agreements, so you never ship an order priced on numbers finance does not recognise. Credit limit, customer hold status and item availability are checked before the order is created, and rejections are returned to Salesforce with a readable reason rather than a stack trace.

Order, shipment and invoice status back to sales

Confirmation, picking, packing slip and sales invoice events feed a status channel back to Salesforce. Account executives see order state, expected ship date, packing slip reference and invoice number and open balance on the opportunity or account record, without a licence to F&O. This is the piece most bespoke projects run out of budget before finishing, and it is the piece sales actually asks for.

Transport, scheduling and errors

Exposure is through OData and custom service endpoints on the F&O side, with polling or event-driven consumption depending on volume. Recurring work runs under the F&O batch framework with its own batch groups, so integration load can be isolated from MRP and financial period close. Every message is logged with correlation identifiers, payload snapshots and retry counts. Failures are queued, retried with backoff, and surfaced in a dedicated workspace with a re-submit action for a functional user — not buried in an event log only a developer can read.

Where your landscape already includes Power Platform, we can route the Salesforce side through custom connectors and flows instead of direct API calls, and we can align with Dual-write patterns so a later move to Dynamics 365 Sales does not mean starting again.

Who this is for

Organisations running F&O for finance, supply chain and manufacturing while keeping Salesforce as the system of record for sales. Typically that means a business with an established Salesforce estate — custom objects, validation rules, an installed reporting layer — where replacing the CRM is not on the table, and where sales volume makes manual order entry a staffing problem rather than an inconvenience.

It suits multi-legal-entity groups particularly well, because that is where naive integrations break: one CRM tenant, several F&O companies, different tax and currency treatment in each.

How delivery works

1. Scoping call. We walk your actual objects and flows — which Salesforce objects, which F&O legal entities, which direction each field travels, what happens on conflict, and what your API and licence constraints are on the Salesforce side.

2. Fixed quote. You receive a written scope with field-level mappings, the flows included, the environments covered and the support window. The price is fixed against that scope. Nothing starts before you approve it.

3. Build. We develop the extension model, entities, services, batch jobs and error workspace, plus the Salesforce-side configuration or connector work agreed in scope. Typical lead time is one working week from approval, depending on how many flows and entities are in scope.

4. Install in test. We deploy the deployable package to your sandbox through LCS, run the flows against your data, and hand you a test script so your own users can sign off each flow rather than take our word for it.

5. Production. After your sign-off we deploy to production in your maintenance window, with a documented rollback, and monitor the first cycles of batch execution.

6. Support. A support window is included so the first month-end, the first quarter-end sales surge and the first Microsoft service update are covered.

Nothing here is downloaded from a shelf. Every deployment is built for the mapping and flows agreed in your scope.

How delivery works

  1. 1

    Scoping call

A short call to confirm the workflow, your platform version and where the integration boundaries sit.

  2. 2

    Fixed quote

You receive a written scope and a fixed price. Nothing is built until you approve it.

  3. 3

    Build and test

We develop against a copy of your configuration and test it there. Typically two to four weeks.

  4. 4

    Install and support

Nous installons sur votre instance, vous remettons le code source et incluons deux semaines d'assistance après la mise en production. Les défauts du code que nous livrons sont corrigés gratuitement.

Ce que vous obtenez

  • A deployable package containing the X++ extension model, built with no overlayering of standard objects
  • Deployment into your sandbox environment via LCS, followed by production deployment after your sign-off
  • Configured field-level mappings, legal entity mappings and flow settings agreed during scoping
  • Salesforce-side configuration or connector artefacts covered by the agreed scope
  • Technical documentation covering entities, services, batch setup, security roles and the error-handling model
  • A functional test script your users run to sign off each flow before production
  • A live training session for your finance, sales operations and support staff, plus a defined post-go-live support window

Pour qui c'est

Sales Operations Manager

Spends the end of every quarter chasing order entry to confirm whether closed-won deals actually became orders, and fielding calls from account executives about invoices they cannot see. Gets a single flow where a Salesforce quote becomes an F&O order with validation feedback, and order and invoice status visible on the CRM record.

Finance Systems Manager

Owns F&O data quality and is tired of duplicate customer records with inconsistent payment terms, tax registration and credit limits arriving from the CRM. Gets governed master data flows with explicit mapping rules, cross-company handling and a full audit trail of every record change.

ERP Solution Architect

Has to keep the F&O environment upgrade-safe while satisfying a sales organisation that will not leave Salesforce. Gets an extension-only integration deployed through the existing LCS pipeline, running on the batch framework, with documented endpoints and no overlayered code to remediate at the next service update.

Questions fréquemment posées

Is this an existing app I can download and install today?
No. Every ECOSIRE app is built to order. After a scoping call we issue a fixed quote for your specific mappings and flows, then build it. Typical lead time is one working week from your approval, longer if the scope covers many entities, unusual custom objects or several legal entities. You receive a deployable package for your sandbox first, never a direct-to-production install.
Which versions and editions of Dynamics 365 are supported?
This is built for Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management — the Finance & Operations applications — on cloud-hosted or Microsoft-managed environments deployed through LCS. It is not a Business Central app. We target the version currently running in your environment and confirm the exact application and platform build during scoping. Because everything is extension-model X++ with no overlayering, service updates do not require code remediation, though we retest against major releases during the support window.
Does this work with our customised Salesforce org?
That is the point of scoping. Custom objects, custom fields, record types and validation rules on your side are mapped explicitly, and we confirm during scoping whether any of them make a flow impractical before you commit to a price. We do not assume a vanilla Salesforce org, and we tell you plainly if something in your configuration will need changing on the CRM side.
Which direction does data flow, and who wins a conflict?
Direction is decided per entity and per field during scoping, and written into the quote. A common pattern is CRM-owned for prospects and sales activity, F&O-owned for credit, pricing, tax and financial status. Conflict rules are configuration, not a hidden default, and every change is recorded in the message log so you can see which system wrote which value and when.
What happens when the integration fails at two in the morning?
Messages that fail are retried with backoff and then held in an error queue rather than being lost or silently skipped. A dedicated workspace lets a functional user filter failures, read the payload and reason, correct the source data and re-submit — no developer required for routine failures. Batch jobs that stop are visible in the standard batch job monitoring, and alerting targets can be configured during scoping.
Can you also handle Power Platform or a later move to Dynamics 365 Sales?
Yes. Where it suits your landscape we route the CRM side through Power Platform custom connectors and flows rather than direct API calls, and we align entity design with Dual-write patterns. That means a later migration to Dynamics 365 Sales reuses the F&O-side entities and services instead of starting over. Discuss it at scoping so the design accounts for it from the beginning.
