Returns Routing & Green Returns is a build-to-order Shopify app for high-return-volume brands that are bleeding margin on reverse logistics. It is not an instant App Store download — ECOSIRE builds, installs, and configures it on your store, then supports it. We design the rules, wire the integrations, and hand you a working system tuned to your catalog and warehouse network.
At its core the app evaluates every return request against rules you define. Low-value or high-restocking-cost SKUs can trigger a keep-the-item ("green return") decision — the customer is refunded or credited without shipping anything back, cutting freight, handling, and disposal cost. For everything else, the app calculates the lowest-cost return path: which of your multi-location inventory warehouses is nearest, has capacity, or already needs that stock.
The app uses the Admin GraphQL API to read orders, fulfillment locations, and inventory levels, listens to orders/fulfilled, refunds/create, and returns webhooks, and stores per-SKU return policy and warehouse routing data in metafields. A merchant-authenticated OAuth install scopes access to exactly the order, return, and inventory permissions needed — nothing more.
Customers get an instant exchange flow: a replacement ships before the original arrives back, reducing churn on size/fit returns. Store-credit incentives nudge refunds toward credit. A fraud and serial-returner layer flags abusive patterns, and an AI return-reason analytics engine clusters free-text and structured reasons so merchandising can fix the products driving returns. Everything is honestly scoped, version-controlled, and maintained by ECOSIRE after delivery.

No. Returns Routing & Green Returns is build-to-order. ECOSIRE builds the app, installs it on your store through a merchant-authenticated OAuth flow, and configures the rules, routing, and integrations for your catalog and warehouses. You get a working, tailored system rather than a generic self-install.
How long does delivery take after I purchase?
Typical delivery is about 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff, depending on the complexity of your rules, the number of warehouse locations, and how much historical return data you want pre-loaded into the analytics. We confirm a firm timeline during the scoping call after purchase and keep you updated through build, install, and handover.
What ongoing support and updates are included?
Your purchase includes a post-delivery support window covering bug fixes and maintenance to keep the app compatible with Shopify Admin API and webhook changes. We also remain available for rule adjustments and enhancements. Longer-term support and feature work can be arranged as a continuing engagement after the initial window.
What Shopify permissions and data does the app need?
During the OAuth install the app requests scopes for orders, returns, refunds, and inventory at your fulfillment locations. It reads order and multi-location inventory data via the Admin GraphQL API, listens to returns and refund webhooks, and stores return policy and routing rules in metafields. We request only the scopes the features require.
Does it work with my multiple warehouses and 3PLs?
Yes. Smart routing is built on Shopify multi-location inventory, so any fulfillment location configured in your Shopify admin, including 3PL-managed locations, can be a routing target. We configure the routing logic, such as nearest location or most stock-needy, to match how your network actually operates.
Can the green-return and fraud rules be customized to our policy?
Yes. The rules engine is configured to your thresholds: which SKUs or collections qualify for keep-it refunds, when to offer instant exchanges, store-credit bonus amounts, and the patterns that flag serial returners. ECOSIRE sets this up with you and the rules can be tuned later without rebuilding the app.
