The problem

SAP Business One knows what stock you own. It does not, out of the box, know where a specific pallet sits, which picker touched it, or whether the carton that left the dock actually contained what the packing list claimed. Distributors fill that gap with printed pick sheets, a clipboard, and somebody keying the results back into the client at the end of the shift.

The cost of that gap is measurable in the places nobody wants to look. Stock accuracy decays between counts because movements are recorded hours after they happen. Pickers walk the building in the order the printout happened to be sorted. Mispicks are discovered by the customer, not the warehouse. Batch and serial traceability exists in the ERP but not in the aisle, so a recall means reading paper. And when volume rises, the only lever available is hiring, because none of the process is instrumented well enough to improve.

What ECOSIRE builds

ECOSIRE builds a per-tenant SAP Business One warehouse management add-on: a desktop control layer inside the SAP B1 client plus a browser-based mobile interface that runs on rugged Android or Windows handhelds and standard phones. Everything posts through the Service Layer against your real company database — there is no shadow inventory table pretending to be the truth.

This is build-to-order. The bin naming scheme, the put-away rules, the pick strategy and the label formats are yours, captured in scoping and built to match. Nothing here is a generic download.

Bin, zone and location model

The suite works with SAP Business One bin locations where you already use them, and adds the operational layer above: zones, pick faces, bulk reserve, staging lanes, quarantine and returns areas. Bin attributes — capacity, allowed item groups, temperature class, pickable or reserve-only — are held in UDTs with a UDO maintenance screen so your warehouse manager configures them without a developer.

Directed put-away

On Goods Receipt PO, the handheld scans the item barcode or GS1 label, captures quantity, batch or serial, and the suite proposes a bin using the rules agreed in scoping — nearest empty of the right class, replenish the pick face first, consolidate to an existing bin holding the same batch, or a fixed home location per item. The operator scans the destination bin to confirm, which prevents the classic failure where the system believes the goods went somewhere the operator did not. The resulting Inventory Transfer posts immediately.

Picking

Picks are generated from Sales Orders and Delivery documents. The suite supports order picking, batch/multi-order picking with a cart map, and zone picking with hand-off between zones. Pick sequence follows a travel path you define over your bin naming scheme rather than document line order. Each pick is confirmed by scanning the bin and the item, with quantity keyed or scanned from a GS1-128 label; batch and serial numbers are captured against the correct SAP B1 allocation rather than assigned later. Short picks trigger a substitution or exception flow, and can be escalated to a supervisor on the desktop screen in real time.

Packing and shipping

Packers scan picked lines into cartons, producing a carton manifest with weights and dimensions. The suite generates carton labels and packing lists, posts the SAP B1 Delivery, and records the carrier and tracking reference on document UDFs. Where you use Crystal Reports for your packing list or shipping label layouts, the suite drives your existing layouts rather than imposing new ones.

Counting and adjustments

Cycle counting runs by zone, by item velocity class or by bin, generated on a schedule and executed on the handheld. Variances create SAP B1 Inventory Postings or Inventory Transfers, optionally routed through an approval procedure so nothing adjusts stock value without a sign-off. Blind counts hide the expected quantity from the counter.

Replenishment and internal movement

Min/max rules on pick faces generate replenishment tasks from bulk reserve, posted as Inventory Transfers. Ad-hoc moves are scan-to-scan: scan source bin, scan item, scan destination. Every movement writes an audit row recording the operator, the device, the timestamp and the resulting SAP B1 document.

Labels and barcodes

The suite prints item labels, bin labels, licence plate/carton labels and GS1-128 shipping labels through your existing label printers. Barcode symbologies, label sizes and the data encoded in each are agreed in scoping and built to match what your trading partners and your scanners expect.

Supervisor visibility

A desktop dashboard inside the SAP B1 client shows open tasks by zone, picker throughput, exceptions awaiting decision, and stock currently in staging. Supervisors reassign work, release waves and clear exceptions without walking the floor.

Who it is for

Distributors, wholesalers and manufacturers on SAP Business One 10.0 who are running a real warehouse on paper or on spreadsheets, who need batch or serial traceability enforced at the point of movement, and who have outgrown manual stock accuracy. It suits operations with defined physical locations — if bins do not exist yet, part of the scoping is designing them.

How delivery works

1. Scoping call and, where useful, a site walk. We map your physical layout, your bin naming, your receiving and shipping processes, your batch/serial requirements, your label formats and your handheld hardware. You get a written scope covering every rule and every exception path. 2. Fixed quote. One price for the agreed scope. New requirements after sign-off are quoted, not absorbed silently. 3. Build. Developed against the SAP Business One Service Layer and DI API, with UDFs, UDTs and UDOs created by a scripted installer. 4. Install into your test company. We load your real item master and bin structure into the test company database, run your actual receiving, picking and shipping flows on real handhelds, and you sign off. 5. Production install and cutover. Bins are labelled, opening stock is positioned, and we run the first live shift alongside your team. 6. Support window. A defect-fix support window follows go-live.

Typical build and delivery is 2–4 weeks from signed scope for a single site; multi-site rollouts and unusual label or traceability requirements extend that, and the number is in your quote before you commit.
