Retail and hospitality teams running Odoo POS routinely end up with two disconnected systems at the counter: the POS session on one screen and a standalone card terminal that the cashier keys the amount into by hand. That manual re-keying is where the money leaks — mistyped amounts, tenders marked "paid" in Odoo that never actually cleared on the terminal, tips and partial payments that don't map back to the order, and end-of-day cash-ups where the POS account.bank.statement never agrees with the acquirer's settlement report. Odoo Community POS ships generic payment methods and, on Enterprise, integrations for a specific set of first-party terminals, but out of the box it has no driver for an arbitrary acquirer's terminal, no automatic amount push, and no way to write the acquirer's transaction reference back onto the POS order line.
ECOSIRE builds a made-to-order payment-terminal connector for Odoo POS that closes that loop. Technically, we register a new payment method backed by a custom pos.payment.method variant and an OWL frontend payment interface that the POS screen calls when the cashier selects the terminal tender. The interface pushes the exact order total (and, where the terminal supports it, tip and cashback prompts) to the reader over its documented local network, cloud, or SDK transport, then waits on the transaction result. On approval it stamps the acquirer reference, card scheme, and authorization code onto the pos.payment record via new fields declared with fields.Char/fields.Monetary and persisted through the ORM, so every settled tender carries a machine-readable trace back to the terminal. Declined, cancelled, and timed-out transactions are surfaced back into the POS UI as a clean retry rather than a silent mismatch. Server-side Python (models.Model, @api.depends computes for reconciliation status) handles the accounting hand-off, and access is locked down through ir.model.access.csv plus record rules so terminal configuration and transaction logs respect POS-manager versus cashier roles.
Because it is built on the standard POS and accounting models, the integration reconciles the way Odoo expects: terminal captures flow into the POS session's payment lines, close into the session's account.move/statement, and can be matched against the acquirer settlement using the stored reference — no spreadsheet gymnastics. We wire optional automated actions for refund/void handling and expose the transaction log through Odoo's own views and QWeb so finance can pull a reconciliation report without touching the terminal portal. Where your workflow needs it, the connector can be driven headlessly through Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API for kiosk or self-checkout scenarios. We target Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, and we account for Community-versus-Enterprise differences in the POS payment framework so the build matches the edition you actually run.
Delivery is build-to-order, not an instant download. After a short scoping call we confirm your Odoo version and edition, your exact terminal model and its supported transport (local IP, cloud, or vendor SDK), your acquirer's settlement/refund flow, and any tip/multi-currency/multi-company requirements. We then build the module, prove it on a staging copy of your database through UAT, and deploy to production with a rollback plan. Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. Pricing starts from $249 (indicative, single-company base scope); additional terminal models, multi-company or multi-currency reconciliation, self-checkout/kiosk transports, and deeper acquirer refund-and-settlement automation increase the quoted scope. You receive a fixed quote after the scoping call — never a surprise.
Runs one or more staffed checkouts and is tired of cashiers hand-keying amounts into a separate terminal. Needs the amount pushed automatically and every tender traceable so end-of-day cash-ups actually balance.
Owns the month-end close and needs POS card tenders to reconcile against the acquirer settlement report by reference. Wants the transaction log inside Odoo, not exported from a separate terminal portal.
Operates several outlets, possibly across companies or currencies, and wants a consistent terminal-to-POS flow with tips supported and reconciliation that respects multi-company boundaries.
Maintains the Odoo instance and wants a clean, edition-matched module with documented models, security rules, and a git handover they can support and extend rather than a black box.
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Terminal-to-POS amount push | Exact order total pushed automatically to the reader from the POS screen | Possible, but you design and build the transport yourself | Only if the app happens to support your exact terminal model | |
| Odoo version / edition fit | Built and tested against 17/18/19, matched to your edition | Whatever you build for; ongoing maintenance is on you | Fixed to the versions the vendor chose to package | |
| Reconciliation to acquirer settlement | Acquirer reference stored on each tender; matched inside Odoo | Depends entirely on how you model it | Varies; often logs to a separate portal, not Odoo | |
| Handling of your specific acquirer/hardware | Confirmed and targeted during scoping before we quote | You research and implement the transport and refund flow | Take-it-or-leave-it; unsupported hardware is out of luck | |
| Error / decline handling | Declined, cancelled, and timed-out states handled with clean retry in POS | You implement every edge case yourself | Basic at best; varies by app quality | |
| Security & access control | Role-scoped via ir.model.access.csv + record rules (manager vs cashier) | Your responsibility to design and audit | Whatever the vendor shipped, often undocumented | |
| Ownership & maintainability | Full git repo handover, documented models, support window | You own it — and all the maintenance burden | Closed module; you depend on the vendor's roadmap | |
| Delivery model | Build-to-order, 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope, fixed quote | Open-ended timeline and budget | Instant download, but only if it fits as-is |
No. This is a build-to-order integration. We scope your exact Odoo version, edition, terminal model, and acquirer flow, then build, test, and install it for you. It is a productized engineering service, not an off-the-shelf download.
Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. The timeline starts once we've agreed your Odoo version/edition, terminal model and transport, acquirer settlement flow, and any tip/multi-currency/multi-company requirements on the scoping call.
Pricing starts from $249 as an indicative single-company base scope. After a short scoping call we send a fixed quote. Additional terminal models, multi-company/multi-currency reconciliation, kiosk/self-checkout transports, and deeper acquirer refund automation increase the quoted scope. You always get a firm number before we build — no surprises.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments, plus the full git repository so you or your team can maintain it. Upgrades to a newer Odoo major version, or new terminal models, are quoted as follow-on scope.
We build and test against Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, and we account for the differences between Community and Enterprise POS payment frameworks so the module matches the edition you actually run. Confirm your version and edition on the scoping call.
Yes. Captures flow into the POS session's payment lines and close into the session's account move / bank statement, and each tender stores the acquirer reference so you can match POS payments against the acquirer settlement report inside Odoo.
That's exactly what scoping determines. We confirm your terminal model and its supported transport (local IP, cloud, or vendor SDK) and your acquirer's transaction and refund flow before quoting, so the build targets your real hardware and processor rather than a generic assumption.
