HVAC companies live in a gap that Odoo core never fully closes. You install and service physical equipment at customer sites, run recurring maintenance agreements with scheduled visits, dispatch technicians against SLAs, and need the full history of every rooftop unit, chiller, and split system you touch. Out of the box, Odoo gives you Sales, a generic project/field-service surface, and Repairs — but none of them model an installed-equipment register with warranty and refrigerant-charge history, none of them auto-generate the next preventive-maintenance visit from a signed contract, and none reconcile technician time and parts back to a per-asset profitability view. Teams end up stapling spreadsheets to the side of Odoo, and the field data never makes it back into the ERP cleanly.
This is a demo service-business configuration app that we design specifically for HVAC operations and then build to your scope. At the data layer we add an installed-equipment model (models.Model with fields.Many2one links to customer, site, and the original sale order) plus a maintenance-contract model whose recurrence engine uses an @api.depends-driven compute and a scheduled ir.cron automated action to spawn the next service order before it falls due. Service jobs are modeled as a first-class order type that rolls up technician timesheets, consumed stock moves (refrigerant, filters, compressors), and checklist results, with compute fields exposing labour cost, parts cost, and margin per visit and per asset. Everything is wired through proper access control — ir.model.access.csv for group rights plus record rules so a subcontractor crew sees only its own assigned jobs.
On the presentation side we ship dedicated views (list, form, kanban dispatch board, and calendar) built in XML with OWL components where interactivity warrants it, plus QWeb service-report and maintenance-certificate templates the technician can generate on site. Optional automated actions send appointment reminders and contract-renewal notices, and the whole schema is reachable over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API so your booking site or a technician mobile app can create jobs and read equipment history programmatically. We target Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, and we scope Community vs Enterprise honestly up front — where a capability (such as advanced Field Service routing or the studio-built dashboards) only exists in Enterprise, we tell you before you commit, and we build a Community-compatible equivalent when that is the right call.
Build-to-order means exactly that: after a short scoping call we confirm the models, workflows, and reports your operation actually needs, then design, build, and test the module on a staging database before installing it on yours. Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope, and you receive the installable source, documentation, and a support window. Pricing starts from $349 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-company rollouts, extra integrations (payment, telematics, or a mobile technician app), deeper localization, and migrating large volumes of legacy equipment and contract data increase the quoted scope.
Runs installation and service crews and needs one dispatch board, contract-driven scheduling, and per-job margin visibility instead of spreadsheets bolted onto Odoo.
Manages recurring maintenance agreements and renewals, and needs the system to auto-generate the next visit and flag contracts before they lapse.
Owns the company's Odoo instance and wants a properly-structured module with real access control and API hooks, not brittle Studio customizations they cannot maintain.
Works on site and needs a fast checklist, equipment history at hand, and an on-the-spot service certificate to close the visit with the customer.
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Installed-equipment register with warranty & refrigerant history | Purpose-built model linked to customer, site, and sale order | Possible but you design and maintain the schema yourself | Often a generic asset object with fixed, limited fields | |
| Auto-generated preventive-maintenance visits | Contract recurrence via `ir.cron` + `@api.depends` compute | Requires you to build and test the cron logic | May offer basic recurrence, rarely contract-driven | |
| Per-job and per-asset profitability | Stored compute fields for labour, parts, revenue, margin | Build your own compute and reporting layer | Usually job totals only, not per-asset rollup | |
| Fit to your exact HVAC workflow | Scoped and built to your confirmed requirements | Fully bespoke but slower and higher risk | Fixed feature set; you adapt to the app | |
| Access control for subcontractor crews | `ir.model.access.csv` groups plus record rules per crew | You author and verify the rules yourself | Coarse app-level rights, limited record-level isolation | |
| On-site QWeb service certificate | Tailored report templates ready for signature | You design the QWeb templates from scratch | Standard report, often not customizable | |
| Ownership and lock-in | Full source + git repo handover, maintainable by anyone | You own it but carry all build cost and risk | Vendor-controlled; upgrades tied to their roadmap | |
| Support and delivery | 2–4 weeks, staging UAT, rollback plan, support window | Depends on in-house capacity and timeline | Install is instant but support varies by vendor |
No. This is a build-to-order productized service. We use this HVAC configuration as a demonstration baseline, then scope, build, install, and support a version tailored to your operation. There is no instant download — you receive a module built for your confirmed requirements.
Typical delivery is 2–4 weeks from confirmed scope. After the scoping call we agree the models, workflows, and reports, build and test on a staging database, then install on your instance. Larger multi-company or data-migration scopes can extend the timeline, which we state in the fixed quote.
Pricing starts from $349 as an indicative single-company base scope. After a short scoping call we send a fixed quote. Drivers such as multi-company rollout, extra integrations (payments, telematics, a mobile app), deeper localization, and legacy equipment/contract data migration increase the quoted scope.
We support Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 on both Community and Enterprise. During scoping we flag any capability that depends on Enterprise (such as advanced Field Service routing) and, where appropriate, build a Community-compatible equivalent so you are not forced into a licence you do not need.
Every engagement includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration adjustments. Beyond that we offer ongoing support and version-upgrade retainers. Because you receive the full source and git repository, you are never locked in — your own team or any Odoo partner can maintain it.
Yes. The module is built on standard Odoo models, so service jobs consume stock moves from Inventory, invoices flow through Accounting, and equipment links back to the original sale orders. We map your existing configuration during scoping so it integrates rather than duplicates.
Yes. The schema is reachable over Odoo's XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API, so a customer booking site or a technician mobile app can create service jobs, read equipment history, and update checklist results. Building that external app is a separate scope item we can quote alongside the module.
