Bars and pubs run on fast, high-volume service that Odoo core was never shaped to handle out of the box. Bartenders open dozens of tabs at once, split checks across a crowded table, comp a round, ring happy-hour pricing that changes at 7pm, and pour draught beer whose cost has to be reconciled against a keg that empties unpredictably. Standard Odoo POS can take an order and print a receipt, but it has no native concept of a running bar tab held against a card pre-authorization, no pour-size product matrix (half-pint, pint, single, double), no keg depletion tracking, and no time-based price schedules that flip automatically. Owners end up reconciling variance in spreadsheets and guessing at shrinkage. This package closes that gap.
What we build is a cohesive Odoo module (a technical __manifest__.py declaring dependencies on point_of_sale, stock, and account) that layers bar-specific behaviour onto the platform rather than bolting on a disconnected tool. On the data side we extend pos.order and add models.Model classes for tabs, pour sizes, and keg lots, with @api.depends compute fields that roll a tab's running total, tips, and pre-auth balance in real time. Product variants are configured so a single "Draught IPA" carries pour-size attributes that each deplete the correct fraction of a linked keg through stock.move, giving you true theoretical-versus-actual pour cost. Time-based pricelists drive happy-hour and event pricing automatically, and OWL/XML view extensions add a bartender-facing tab screen to the POS so a check can be opened, held, transferred between bartenders, split, and closed without leaving the pour flow.
Access is locked down properly rather than left open: we ship ir.model.access.csv rules plus record rules so a bartender sees only their own open tabs and a floor manager sees the venue, while comps and voids are gated behind a manager group and written to an audit trail. QWeb reports give you end-of-shift Z-reports, pour-cost variance by keg, tab aging, and tip reconciliation, and Odoo automated actions can flag a keg that has poured past its expected yield or a tab left open past close. Everything is reachable over the standard XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API, so a loyalty app, an access-control door system, or a group-level BI stack can read the same records. We build against Community where your stack allows and light up Enterprise-only surfaces (advanced accounting, studio-adjacent flows) only where you actually run Enterprise, and we target your exact series across Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0.
Delivery is build-to-order: nothing is pre-packaged and waiting to download. After a short scoping call we confirm the exact tab, pricing, and keg rules for your venue, build the module, test it on a staging copy of your database, run UAT with your team, and then install it on production with a rollback plan and a post-go-live support window. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope, depending on how much of your current data and hardware we integrate. Pricing starts from $349 (indicative, single-company base scope); multi-venue rollouts, extra integrations (payment terminals, access control, loyalty), deeper localization, and larger historical-data migration increase the quoted scope. You receive a fixed quote after the scoping call, never a surprise invoice.
Runs one or two venues on Odoo and needs open tabs, happy-hour pricing, and real pour-cost control without stitching together a separate spreadsheet reconciliation every week.
Manages several bars on a single Odoo database and needs isolated per-venue pricing and stock, comp/void controls with an audit trail, and group-level reporting over the XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API.
Serves a hospitality client and wants a properly-architected bar module (clean models, `ir.model.access.csv`, record rules, QWeb reports) they can install, support, and hand over rather than a black-box download.
Owns nightly closeout and inventory accuracy, and needs keg depletion tracking, theoretical-versus-actual variance, and tip reconciliation that ties back into the accounting journals.
| Criterion | ECOSIRE | Custom Build | Competitor | Odoo Native |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open bar tabs with card pre-auth | Built to your venue's rules, held against pre-auth, survives bartender handoff | Possible but you design and maintain the model yourself | Basic tab, rarely pre-auth aware | |
| Pour-size costing and keg depletion | Pour-size variants deplete linked kegs via `stock.move`, true variance | Achievable with significant in-house ORM work | Often flat products, no fractional keg depletion | |
| Time-based happy-hour pricing | Automatic day-part and event pricelists, no manual re-ringing | Buildable on pricelists but you wire the schedule logic | Sometimes present, limited scheduling | |
| Comp/void controls and audit trail | Manager-gated via record rules with full audit log | You define the security groups and logging | Varies; audit depth inconsistent | |
| Reporting (Z-report, pour variance, tips) | QWeb reports tailored to your closeout and variance needs | Report templates written and maintained by you | Standard receipts, limited variance reporting | |
| Fit to your version and edition | Built for your exact Odoo 17/18/19, Community or Enterprise | Whatever your team targets and tests | Depends on the listing's supported versions | |
| Ownership and support | Source plus git handover, post-go-live support window | You own it and carry all maintenance | Vendor-controlled, support varies by listing | |
| Multi-venue / group reporting | Multi-company aware with isolated pricing and stock | Requires deliberate multi-company design work | Often single-venue focused |
This is a build-to-order package, not an instant download. After a short scoping call we confirm your exact tab, pricing, and keg rules, then build, test on staging, run UAT, and install on production. Typical delivery is 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed scope, depending on integrations and data migration volume.
No. ECOSIRE builds it to your requirements and your Odoo series. Nothing is pre-packaged and waiting to download. We tailor the pour sizes, pricelists, security, and reports to your venue, then install and support it. You get the source and the git repository at handover.
Pricing starts from $349 as an indicative single-company base scope. The final number depends on the number of venues, extra integrations (payment terminals, access control, loyalty), localization depth, and how much historical data we migrate. After the scoping call you receive a fixed written quote before any build work begins, never a surprise invoice.
Every build includes a post-go-live support window for defect fixes and configuration tweaks. Because you receive the full source and git repository, you are never locked in. We also offer ongoing support and version-migration engagements (for example moving the module from Odoo 17 to 18 or 19) as a separate scope when you are ready.
We target Odoo 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0, on either Community or Enterprise. We build against Community where your stack allows and only rely on Enterprise-only surfaces (advanced accounting, for example) where you actually run Enterprise. We confirm your exact version and edition during scoping.
Yes. The module exposes tabs, pours, and keg records over the standard XML-RPC/JSON-RPC API, and we can wire card pre-authorization, loyalty, and access-control integrations as part of the scoped build. These integrations add to the quoted scope and are agreed in writing before work starts.
No. We build and validate on a staging copy of your database first, run UAT with your team, and install on production with a documented rollback plan. If anything is off during go-live we can revert cleanly. Your existing POS operations keep running until the new module is signed off.
