Live Gold/Metal Price Updater is a custom Shopify app that ECOSIRE builds, installs and maintains for your store so that every gold, silver and platinum product is continuously repriced from live spot rates — no spreadsheets, no manual price runs, no stale margins when the bullion market jumps.

The app maps each product (or variant) to a metal type, net weight and purity in karats, then computes the selling price as a transparent formula: (live spot rate × weight × purity factor) + making charge + your markup rule. A scheduled job re-evaluates the catalog on the interval you choose and pushes new prices through the Shopify Admin GraphQL API, while a price-breakdown block on the product page shows shoppers exactly how the figure is derived — building trust at the moment of purchase.

Because this is built to order, not an instant App Store install, we tune it to your real catalog: your metafield structure for weight and karat, your making-charge tables, your currency, and your preferred spot-rate provider. The app authenticates via OAuth, stores per-product pricing inputs in metafields, and can react to inventory or product webhooks so newly added SKUs inherit your pricing logic automatically.

How long does it take to build and install the app?

This is a build-to-order app, not an instant App Store download. After a short discovery call to confirm your spot-rate provider, catalog structure and pricing rules, a typical build, installation and supervised first repricing run takes about 2 to 3 weeks. Which metals and spot-rate sources are supported?

We connect to a commercial metal spot-rate API of your choice; if you do not already have one, we will recommend a reliable provider during discovery. Rates are converted into your store currency for multi-currency catalogs.

Will shoppers see how the price is calculated?

Yes, if you want them to. The app can render a price-breakdown block on the product detail page showing the live spot rate, the product's weight and karat purity, the making charge and any markup. Many jewelers use this to build trust; it can also be hidden if you prefer to show only the final price.

Can I exempt certain products from automatic repricing?

Yes. Any SKU or variant can be locked or given a manual override so it is skipped by the scheduled repricing job. You can also set rounding rules and minimum-margin guards so automated prices never fall below a floor you define.
