Looker Studio (formerly Google Data Studio) is free, fast, and shareable by link — but it has no native way to read a Magento 2 database. This extension closes that gap. ECOSIRE builds you a dedicated Magento module (under app/code/Ecosire/LookerStudioConnector) that exposes a secured, read-only data endpoint Looker Studio can connect to as a Community Connector data source, plus a scheduled sync that keeps orders, catalog and customer aggregates fresh.

Under the hood it ships as a proper Magento 2 module: a REST/GraphQL service-contract layer for query access, repository-backed collections so multi-store and store-view scoping are respected, a di.xml-wired service class, cron jobs (via crontab.xml) for scheduled extracts, and admin configuration under Stores > Configuration gated by a dedicated ACL resource. Authentication uses Magento integration tokens (OAuth/bearer) so no raw DB credentials ever leave your server. Custom field mapping lets us surface exactly the attributes you report on — margin, custom EAV product attributes, sales-rep, channel — not just the default columns.

Because every Magento install has different attributes, store-view layouts, tax logic and reporting questions, this is sold build-to-order. Adobe Commerce-only constructs (such as B2B shared catalogs or company-account data) can be included in the mapping when you are on Commerce — we confirm exactly what is available on your edition during scoping.

Is my data safe? Does Looker Studio get direct database access?

No raw database access is ever granted. Looker Studio connects to a read-only HTTPS endpoint on your store using a Magento integration bearer token, scoped by a dedicated admin ACL resource and rate-limited so the BI feed never competes with storefront traffic. The module only reads; it does not modify core sales or catalog tables. Tokens can be rotated at any time from the admin panel, and you control which store-views are exposed.

How is this different from exporting CSVs or using a free Marketplace extension?

Manual CSV export means rebuilding the same pivots every week and the data is stale the moment you export it. A generic off-the-shelf extension gives you fixed columns that rarely match your custom EAV attributes, margin logic or multi-store structure.
