The Rakuten Connector for Business Central is a build-to-order extension that turns your Business Central tenant into the system of record for your Rakuten marketplace operations. Rakuten exposes seller integration through its RMS (Rakuten Merchant Server) order, item and inventory APIs; this connector maps those endpoints to BC's native sales, item and warehouse objects so your team works inside Business Central instead of the Rakuten RMS web console.
This is not an instant AppSource download. ECOSIRE builds the extension in AL against your specific Rakuten shop ID, SKU strategy and marketplace region (Rakuten Ichiba JP and/or Rakuten France), then installs it as a per-tenant extension directly on your Business Central Online (or on-prem) environment and supports it after go-live.
Under the hood the connector ships AL table and page extensions (Rakuten mapping fields on Item, Sales Header and Customer), event subscribers on posting routines, a dedicated Job Queue entry set for scheduled polling, and a hardened HTTP client that authenticates to the Rakuten RMS API. New Rakuten orders are pulled and created as BC Sales Orders with the correct customer, shipping method and marketplace fees recorded. Inventory and price changes flow outbound on a schedule. When you post a warehouse shipment, the connector writes the carrier and tracking number back to Rakuten so the buyer is notified. Returns and refund requests are surfaced in BC and tied to credit memos.
Everything is scoped to dedicated permission sets, logged for audit, and designed to fail safe — a Rakuten API outage queues retries rather than corrupting your ledger. Optional Dataverse / Power Platform surfacing lets you drive Power BI dashboards or Power Automate alerts from the same synced data.

How long until the connector is live on our Business Central environment?
Because this is build-to-order, ECOSIRE scopes your Rakuten shop ID, marketplace region(s) and SKU mapping first, then builds and installs the per-tenant extension. A typical single-region build with standard order/inventory/price/shipment sync lands in roughly one working week. Multi-region (JP + EU), heavy listing-attribute mapping, or Dataverse/Power BI work extends that. You get a firm timeline in writing before any payment milestone.
What happens with ongoing support and updates after go-live?
The $999 covers the build, per-tenant installation and an initial post-go-live support window for bug fixes. Rakuten periodically revises its RMS API and Business Central ships monthly/major updates, so ECOSIRE offers an ongoing support and API change-monitoring agreement to keep the extension compatible. You also receive the AL source, so your own BC partner can maintain it if you prefer.
Is this a Microsoft AppSource app I can install myself?
No. It is honestly build-to-order. ECOSIRE engineers the AL extension for your specific Rakuten setup and installs it as a per-tenant extension on your tenant. There is no instant self-service AppSource download — the trade-off is that the connector fits your exact SKU strategy, region and posting flow rather than a generic one-size template.
Does it support both Rakuten Ichiba (Japan) and Rakuten France?
Yes, both are supported and scoped per build. Each Rakuten marketplace has its own RMS shop credentials, currency (JPY vs EUR) and listing rules, so a multi-marketplace deployment is configured per region. Tell us which marketplaces you sell on during scoping and the extension is built to handle them, including correct currency on price sync and order import.
Will it modify our base Business Central objects or break on upgrades?
