Most retailers and restaurants treat gift cards as a spreadsheet problem: a card is sold, cash hits the till, and the outstanding balance lives in someone's head until an auditor asks where the liability sits. Gift Card & Store Credit closes that gap inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

This is a build-to-order extension, not an instant AppSource install. ECOSIRE designs, builds, installs and supports it as a per-tenant AL extension deployed directly to your Business Central environment (cloud SaaS or on-prem). We tailor the card formats, expiry policy, GL mapping and POS integration to how you actually trade, then hand you a documented, supported solution.

Under the hood it ships new AL tables for card masters, balance ledger entries and redemption history, plus table and page extensions that surface gift-card actions on Sales Orders, POS sale lines and the Customer card. Every issuance posts to a configurable gift-card liability G/L account; every redemption draws that liability down — so your balance sheet always reflects real outstanding value, with full audit trail through standard Business Central dimensions and ledger entries.

Event subscribers hook the posting routines so reconciliation is automatic, never a month-end scramble. A job queue entry sweeps for expired cards and writes breakage to income per your policy. Cards are exposed through a custom API page (OData v4 / REST) so your e-commerce storefront, mobile app or third-party POS can check balances and redeem in real time — enabling true cross-store and cross-channel redemption against one source of truth.

Dedicated permission sets separate who can issue, redeem and adjust. Where you run Power Platform, balances can surface in Dataverse for Power BI dashboards or a customer-facing Power App. You own the IP, you own the data, and ECOSIRE supports it.

How long does delivery take, since this isn't an instant AppSource download?

Correct — this is build-to-order. After a short scoping call to confirm card formats, expiry and breakage policy, GL mapping and which channels you redeem across, a typical build, sandbox UAT and production install runs about 2 to 4 weeks depending on POS and e-commerce integration complexity. You get a firm timeline in writing before we start, and we install to your sandbox first so you sign off before anything touches production.

What does ongoing support and updates look like after install?

ECOSIRE supports the extension on your environment. Because it's a per-tenant AL extension, we test it against each Business Central major release (the cloud cadence) and ship a compatibility update so it keeps working through upgrades. Bug fixes are covered, and enhancements are quoted as small change requests. You receive the source code, so you're never locked in — you can have us, your partner, or your own AL developers maintain it.

Does it work with my POS and online store?

Issuance, balance check and partial redemption are added to the Business Central POS sale lines and Sales Order via page extensions. For external POS, e-commerce or mobile apps, we expose a custom API page over OData v4 / REST so those systems check balances and redeem against the same balance ledger in real time. During scoping we confirm exactly which systems you use and map the integration points.

ECOSIRE provides the build, install and support, but you are never dependent on us to keep running.
