Customers buy digital cards (emailed with a scheduled delivery date and a custom design) or physical cards (printed code + QR/barcode, fulfilled like any shippable line item). Each card carries a unique redemption code generated server-side, hashed at rest, and validated at checkout through a WooCommerce cart fee/coupon hook so partial redemptions correctly decrement the remaining balance. Unused balance flows into a per-customer store-credit wallet that displays in My Account and applies automatically on the next order.
The build is HPOS-aware (WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage / custom order tables) and exposes read endpoints through the WooCommerce REST API, so your POS, mobile app, or in-store scanner can look up and burn a code via QR or barcode. We wire balance adjustments through WordPress actions and filters (woocommerce_order_status_completed, refund hooks) and schedule expiry reminders via WP-Cron.
